Listening to this album again: Buster Williams plays on four of seven tracks on this album. Buster sounds so good that I wish he'd have played on the whole LP. This is one of those records that I have a clear preference for Side A over Side B. Also:

Sad news. R.I.P. But what a legacy!!! Thanks for sharing this story.

I'm a big fan of the Brazilian Octopus album, which has that international MPs fondue party sound that I can't resist. RIP.

A favorite B3er. So Cute So bad is one of her best recordings, IMO. RIP

This one hits me hard. Many years ago he played in Frankfurt with his Band. I went there with a longtime friend who brought Brazilian percussionist Gilson de Assis who stayed with him at the time. After the gig they talked the whole Band into going to a local Club where another Brazlian, pianist Izio Gross, led the house trio. His bassist and drummer of retirement age looked so frail you were afraid they would collapse any minute. Hermeto's bassist and drummer conquered the stage, and we were four percussionists cooking behind some wild four hand piano on some old time Brazilian standards. Afterwards we talked a bit, and Hermeto just said "Thanks for loving music." One of the loveliest human beings I ever met. An amazing creative genius. R.I.P and many thanks for the inspiration.
