Thanks! I only have a Japanese import CD with microscopic illegible liner notes. Maybe I should buy the New World reissue for these excellent notes.
  3. I've also remarked on the uncanniness. NP
  4. Today
  5. I came across this CD in a largely rock record store nearly 20 years ago, so I got it for a steal. This record is out of this world bonkers; hypnotic, yet balls out. After listening, I still don't know what to make of it. Color me impressed! PS, ie, callin' Clifford Thornton, guessing you may know some history behind what label this record was originally recorded on, and what the original sleeve art looked like.
  6. I've seen Nasheet quite a few times. Early on with Jason Moran's Bandwagon, and more recently with Dave Holland and also Tarbaby and Sylvie Courvoisier. Always excellent!
  7. Price of this oop book in Germany is ridiculous. But chances are I can access it in the National Library in Frankfurt as it was a German publication. Not exactly what I am looking for but worth investivgating. Thanks for the hint.
  8. You nailed 2,7,8,9 and 11. Your comments are consistently interesting and insightful. Thanks!
  9. Horrible rewrite of the book, inventing characters that weren't present and David Niven's character was an American in the Alistair MacLean novel.
  10. Mike, this is the German edition of 75 Years of Capitol Records. https://www.amazon.com/75-Years-Capitol-Records-XL/dp/3836550288/ref=sr_1_3 I haven't seen it; but even if it does not include a discography, perhaps its index will include the title of what you are looking for.
  11. I keep coming back in my memory to a Robert Crumb illustrated panel of him in extreme distress saying "It might already be too late!"

  12. Legion of Mary "Absolute Mary" (bonus disc to The Jerry Garcia Collection Vol.1)
  13. I know there was a label discography about Capitol published on CDR by a Durch group of people, I'm sorry but cannot remember their name. It was label discography like those on Blue Note, Prestige, Atlantic etc,. Does any board member have a copy for sale or know about a source to acquire this . I need it for some of my didcographical research. Thankscin advance.

  15. My first impression, too:
  16. “Classic V-Disc Big Band Jazz Sessions” Mosaic Records 10 cd set, disc 2
  17. Good question. I have not seen an LP with only Charlie Palomares and his orchestra - might need to consult an expert on the music that was released during 1960s-1970s in Peru.
  18. TLP, AKA Troubleman: Recordbox #01. N.E.W.S. 541590 [Belgium 2016]
  19. Have you tried emailing Felipe Luciano, who does the Latin Roots program on WBAI? It's the only music program I listen to on the radio. He knows everything about Latin Music. Just go to this contact page link. and enter his name in the search engine and there's an email form for him. I emailed him yesterday with some suggestions for his show. He totally freaked me out yesterday by saying that he was going to play the one song that describes himself best, and it turned out to be a Jackie McLean tune, "A Fickle Sonance", with some great Tommy Turrentine.on it.: https://wbai.org/contact.php
