  8. The second UHQCD, the 1962 concert. Sound is excellent with Garrison perhaps heard with a bit more “presence” than Workman was on the first UHQCD. . . .
  9. and don´t forget the version announced as "night in tunisia" by mel powell and the swing sextet (uptown hall gang) recorded for the bbc´s aef (allied expeditionary forces) programme in great britain on 3rd december 1944!
  10. My copy of the 2 UHQCD set arrived today, and I have listened to the first UHQCD disc, the 1961 concert. I have had this material for some years on a Gambit cd, and the sound here is undeniably improved. Clearly, more forward and clear and dynamic.

  12. Straining my eyes at the Discography appendix, these stood out: Derek Bailey, John Zorn, Wm. Parker, Harras (Avant) (1995 release) Derek Bailey ● John Zorn ● William Parker – Harras – CD (Album), 1995 [r494028] | Discogs Wayne Horvitz, Simple Facts (Theater for Your Mother) (1980 release) Wayne Horvitz – Simple Facts | Releases | Discogs
  13. Excellent album -Recorded live @ The Baked Potato, September 13 & 14, 2013
  14. RIP. I recently watched him in some Auger/Oblivion Express Youtube videos.
  15. Yep. Next up: Two Muse LPs on one 32 Jazz CD.
  16. I dug up the book and indeed there's no mention (AFAICT) of Parker playing with "Downtown" artists. Probably didn't fit in with the flow/theme due to the factors Jim mentioned.
  17. That's a damn good record.
