Thanks. Wow, that was recorded in 2019, released in 2020 and AFAICT (admittedly via Wikipedia) is Carla Bley's last recording.

The JATP format did encourage grandstanding that could get excessive. But the quality and individuality of many of the musicians on this box saves it all. For me, just the prospect of more Lester Young made buying this set a no brainer.

I actually played quite a bit of this box when I got it and enjoyed the music but I don't think I've played it since. There's a lot of jamming here and you almost have to wonder, "Do I need all of this"?

Track 3 is Carla Bley, Steve Swallow and Andy Sheppard, “Beautiful Telephones II”

Last time I saw him was the Chicago fest in 2013.

Only saw him ca. 1989 with his Special Edition group that had Osby/Gary Thomas/Mick Goodrick/Lonnie Plaxico. Not fond of the other players in that group, but DeJohnette himself was splendid.

I saw him twice - once with Gateway, one w/the Jarrett standards trio.

Sometimes assault is warranted.

Muse Master Edition Series LP reissue. Very nicely done.

Yeah, unlikely and incorrect. An interesting speculation, though, and not one that I would have made. But I can see that, yeah. The singer is nowhere near famous, and again, it is not her album.
