I would welcome some printed lyrics! That L.A. Phil album is not bad, really. Besides the Hutch stuff, there's also some dandy Carmen McRae doing some standards with Bill Holman charts and some perfectly nice wallpaper by Earl Klugh. It could have stood a reissue in itself, especially if decent tapes of the whole gig still exist.

German Jazz on MPS/Mood/Inakustik re-issues, etc
barnaba.siegel replied to StarThrower's topic in Re-issues
Yea, unfortunately B. Free (with its few other incarnations) turned out to be pirate :/. Too bad, this record is so good and they'd got quality stuff in general. But I hope more live stuff from this circle of German jazz-rock will unearth in the future. Nevertheless, be sure to check out the studio material. Through the years I've got the feeling, that it's considered as one of the best German jazz records from the 70's (with 2/5 band from Poland). -
Nuvens Douradas – Juarez Moreira Interpreta Tom Jobim Juarez looks a lot like my brother Lester. Nice disc!

I'm writing a book about Prestige, and I'm going to do a chapter on their album covers. I have the coffee table book of Prestige covers, but it doesn't have all of them. Well, of course, it couldn't. I'm probably going to have to cop out and say "numerous covers" or something like that.

I don't require audiophile sound. Just being able to hear all the notes is adequate, sometimes more than adequate. If it's Bird, I'll settle for almost anything. So I am buying without dread, which is almost buying with confidence! 🤠

Haven't heard that, but it's probably very good because I have an excellent B.Free (is that a pirate label?) CD which has live versions of most of the tunes:

In this thread, four regular Organissimo posters said that the sound is OK and zero (who have heard it) criticized the sound. I consider that a "buy with confidence", but am not expecting "audiophile" sound quality (which would be rare for a reissue of this nature).

German Jazz on MPS/Mood/Inakustik re-issues, etc

This one is a jazz-rock classic from the MPS catalogue. "Kunstkopfindianer" is credited by Hans Koller, Wolfgang Dauner, Adelhard Roidinger, Zbigniew Seifert, Janusz Stefanski and it's a great piece of a crazier European approach in terms of composing and use of electronics. The opening piece is just mad, Dauner is going crazy with all keys and synths - and Seiferts' violin playing throughout the whole record is definitely unique, he was really one of the best violinist back then. That sample track sounds pretty good. Garzone is always a fun listen. -
