  2. Antonio Carlos Jobim “Stone Flower” (arranged by Eumir Deodata) CTI cd US
  3. Today
  4. Yeah, he starts off with that burning, driving, articulation, sound and rhythm that first attracted me to his playing, like on"Spaces", and then it's like another guy like Hendrix came in pushed him off his chair, and started freaking out with distortion, playing a different style. Maybe he was just possessed, and needed an exorcism or something. He did stuff like that on the "Fairyland" album, but more organically.
  5. Morricone - Autopsy, A.K.A. Macchie Solari (1975) - Arrow Records 2-LP reissue.
  6. My bank balance saved by the Atlantic again! Hope you find a seller for both soon
  7. Took a few days but here myself now. It really is a cracking album
  8. That looks like I need to investigate it
  9. I have this on a Columbia 10" with different cover art. Never saw the version you posted.
  10. Likely the strongest The Herbie Nichols Project recording ....
  11. Thnx for sharing .... obviously I'm full of envy 😇😎 ....
  12. Roots of Rhythm - Prince Onago and Princess Muana (with Chick Foster and His Quintet) - Jubilee (stereo) Like Chaino and Korla Pandit, this is another example of willful self-exoticism. Onago and Muana claimed to be African royalty; in reality, they were from East St. Louis. This is one of two LPs they recorded, the other for 20th Century Fox. I have both.
  13. Martinu, Double Concerto for Two String Orchestras, Piano, and Timpani / The Frescoes of Piero della Francesca Charles Mackerras, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra (Supraphon/Denon)
  14. Last night, Tutu Jones and His Twisted Soul Band at The Goat. An amazing and unique guitarist.
  15. Ghana Special 2, Electronic Sounds and Highlife in the Diaspora 1980-93 (Soundway)
  16. Bought it on release, saw them live at the time. Terrific album and band. Mykaell Riley co-curator of the British Library's 'Beyond the Bassline' exhibition https://blogs.bl.uk/sound-and-vision/2024/04/beyond-the-bassline-500-years-of-black-british-music.html Never heard of that album until today when I've come across it twice. Here and here https://open.substack.com/pub/sunra/p/michael-cuscuna-part-1?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=1tklsf
  17. The Trumpet of Pete Condoli, Blues, When Your Lover Has Gone (Somerset) Duke Ellington, Up in Duke's Workshop (Pablo)
