  1. All from the same week at the club, as far as I know.
  2. A word for the Plugged Nickle - from circa '64 through '68 I saw Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Smith, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane (3 times). I am sure I am forgetting others. Too bad only Miles was recorded. What is now called the London House seems to be a Hilton property. The old structure is gone. 30 years ago the old building was a Burger King IIRC.
  3. This discussion brought a bit of sadness - Horenstein invited me to London for the performance of the 7th under discussion.
  4. This which has caused me to pull out this
  5. Red Beans 001 with Erwin Helfer.
  6. This reminds me - if anyone here doesn't know "Imagine the Sound", you should check it out HERE.
  7. Sad.
  8. I dumped the other one when I got this. Memory says zilch about the consistency of the speed.
  9. The version in this set has been speed corrected.
  10. Bobby Ipso & Sammy Facto - Truth Be Told
  11. New York Post has some indication of this.
  12. The New Apartment Lounge on 75th if it was on the South Side.
  13. Didn't know it existed. Thanks.
  14. Fine Konitz. I have that on vinyl - GFM Records out of Glasgow. Same "artwork".
  15. I bought the Reprise records as they were issued and have a soft spot for the whole bunch. I was also catching the band "live" at the time as well.
  16. I would grab the other 3 Reprise records first.
  17. Latest episode of Nine Perfect Strangers.
  18. For some reason, many folks miss "Nocturne" on Prestige Moodsville w/ Lem Winchester, Richard Wyands, George Duvivier & Roy Haynes. A fine date.
  19. So far, my favorite song is ""I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together".
  20. Tomorrow night the Sun Ra band is in town.
  21. He acted like it didn't happen.
