  1. Cover image, and 2 more in the package, by Marek Lazarski. They were taken in Buffalo at a concert I attended a couple of days before the recording. the design work is by my daughter Carla - she has done the majority of our cd issues.
  2. everything is fine, keep moving, nothing to see here.
  3. Yes, Ann and I leave in the morning for a road trip to visit friends old and new. The concert in Hartford with Stephen Haynes and Joe Morris was the impetus and we expect it to be a highlight. Thanks to the musicians for the opportunity. Looking forward to seeing friends, musical and otherwise on the journey. Whitehall, Cleveland, Gettysburg, Woodstock, Hartford, etc....
  4. Yeah, me too. That's why I got the Complete Monk Prestiges boxset. And because it is a K2. Me too.
  5. Clyde Flowers Clyde Stubblefield Clyde Barrow
  6. There you go! He also "made" Mode for Joe". I remember this playing and Bill Dixon wanted to know who the drummer was.
  7. Wish I still had those Nighthawk lps.
  8. While in my last year of high school I took a chance on a record because of the cover shot of a "crazed musician". It was a clear/yellow vinyl pressing in stereo with the blue label. That record went the way of much vinyl to finance cds on my label. When my father died a few years ago I found a copy I had given him. Sadly, only black vinyl but it still sounds great.
  9. I don't have Chuck's memory anymore. :-) Compulsion blew me a way when issued and still impresses today. Andrew and Joe Chambers hooking up is a big part of it.
  10. Matt Shipp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krlrzADsnzs&feature=youtu.be and Mr Wright https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EoNsXQIohc .
  11. I have this OJC cd - 23 tracks in all:
  12. Yes. He's sort of a local guy in Chicago and I get lots of feedback there. Sorry if I messed up a thread.
  13. A life well executed.
  14. The Bears lost to Buffalo Grove High.
  15. Every time I run into someone with experience with him I keep hearing the words "dick" and "asshole". YMMV.
  16. I thought we already knew this two or three times. We plan on catching up with him in Hartford on the 20th with Joe Morris and Stephen Haynes.
  17. Will try to remember to listen to the lp tomorrow.
  18. John Hamm Francis Bacon Anthony Weiner
  19. Not for Alfred or Frank. I guess it is good for consumers/fans. Can you imagine if something like this recognized their work at the time?? Never happens.
  20. Don't know about the year thing (I believe 1968) but the record was never officially released at the time - only promos were pressed and semi-distributed. They were pressed at the Chess plant in Chicago and I saw them there while pressing the first edition of Roscoe's Congliptious.
  21. Way too late to have real meaning.
