  1. Had a long series of letters with him in the early '70s when I was buying stock directly from him for my store. Wish I hadn't left the correspondence in the file drawer in Madison. Fine man with great "standards" for his "product".
  2. I'm sorry I stepped on your dick. I'm really sorry your dick fell off. It was an accident. That other fellow over there (my boss) told me to walk this direction, or maybe he just told me to start walking.
  3. As an avid recycler this seems perfect. Gift it rather than throw it. If 25% of the "gifts" find a home everybody wins.
  4. Don't know the current status but there used to be a huge parrot nest on the south side of Chicago at 53rd and South Shore Drive. I remember a few years ago a storm knocked down a large part of it. One other thing - Rudy Van Gelder was a birder; he and his first wife traveled in a nice motor home to track birds.
  5. me too. welcome back.
  6. Nessa Records is in the credits too. I was told if I didn't say ok (for nothing) my material would be left out. Wait, your work is in the series? I must have missed it. When/what? I haven't watched it since it first aired 11-12 years ago. turned out to be a record cover.
  7.  Seems you excited Aloc.
  8. G'bye Davy.

  10. Possibly my favorite Messengers date.
  11. I had hoped this would be a complete EMI recordings set - It is not. Not sure how much is missing but from my lp collection; Beethoven Violin Concerto, Brahms 1, Brahms 3, Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique. Probably more too. Bummer. It is nice to have the Mozart stuff on cd and the Mahler and Wagner material is top shelf.
  12. Funny - had breakfast next to Hal Linden and a "producer lady" a couple of weeks ago on 57th St. He was trying to convince her they could not "bring back memories" of Goodman with a small group. This discussion lasted for 45 minutes before we left.
  13. very old news.
  14. What is the name for "used to be jazz, now using the style without adding anything - no matter the level of quality"?
  15. Your theory was correct.
  16. It is either Mary or an old barber of mine.
  17. I don't remember the quality of the set. I do remember noticing she was the only non-white on the stage. Seemed creepy to me at the time.
  18. Looks like a decade of listening. Can you give us insights as to why you ignored Carter, Maxwell Davies, Boulez, Feldman, etc?
  19. They are always easy to memorize.
