  1. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!!
  2. Anyone notice there is a 9 disc set on Fresh Sound and the 5 disc set under discussion. You can check this out by an Amazon search for "Complete Felsted". So it seems the guys downstairs are now stealing from the guys upstairs.
  3. A facebook post about this is gone. I did not insult anyone. I just asked why Bill was a victim and no one else was mentioned. WTF!
  4. Polly Bergen. Seems "I can name that broad in 30 seconds"!
  5. I am one of his facebook friends and the thread over there paints him as victim and ignores his victims. I have a difficult time wrapping my head around that.
  6. They made records together - and some babies.
  7. Been spinning the Savoy Bird At the Roost lps to make my own cds - including Symphony Sid!
  8. Leaving town for a few days tomorrow, so if you want the Von PDF contact me before 9 am or wait until we return.
  9. I think Don Sickler was one of the organizers.
  10. Chuck -- Wait until someone writes something grossly inaccurate if not mean-spirited about, say, your role in recording Roscoe and others (if that hasn't already happened). If I know you, your response won't be to relax and listen to some music. Over the last 40+ years I have been attacked by white folks saying I'd been duped by black musicians and by black folks saying I was screwing black musicians.

  12. You guys need to relax and listen to some music. The folks you rail about don't give a fuck.
  13. Some guy reviews the Sonny Rollins Impulse "double" reissue of On Impulse / There Will Never Be Another You and after taking a small swipe at the sound of recordings from Rudy's studio says the following: Sonically, however, the real treat is There Will Never Be Another You. Recorded live in New York City's Museum of Modern Art in 1965, but mysteriously not released until 1978, the record is a treasure. The room is audible, especially when Rollins moves around and away from the mic. Seems interesting until you remember this concert was recorded outside in the garden. "The room is audible"????? Where do they find these people?
  14. Multiple news reports say he was already a registered offender.
  15. Rummaging around the net I discovered this 1965 shot of my home town. I can see my grandfather's building, the bowling alley, the place I bought my first record player, etc. I sent the pic to my kids and Eric said "hasn't changed much". Forgive the sentimental ramblings.
  16. Any folks who bought the Bomba issue of the Freeman from me can email me for PDFs of the artwork so you can actually read the liner notes and see the pics. My email is nessarecords@charter.net
  17. Mono out of phase???!!!
  18. I am the guy in the back - the pants were beige. The guy in the red shirt is George Favors, Malachi's brother. The guy next to him was the guy who drove the truck of instruments from the Creative Music Studio. Sadly I don't remember his name.
  19. I understand. It just seemed gratuitous.
  20. Thanks. Always good to chalk up those non-sales.
  21. What's his name?
