Most of the newer releases are not streaming. Ann and I enjoyed both dvds and streaming but decided not to pay for the extra charges. Without warning they hit our bank for the new combined total and it was rejected. They sent us an email asking for the disc we had and deleted our account without warning. We contacted them and they set up a new dvd only deal but we lost all our saved films since they deleted the account. About 150 saved items are gone.

Somebody has to buy it.

Had some years ago. Seemed to be average boots sound-wise. I know Jerry Valburn told me he was the source for a number of tapes. He seemed to be proud of it.

The Amazon listing does not include The Hard Blues. Is this accurate?

Oh boy, I am the first person to bitch about the set. This will help my rep around here. My complaint is about the packaging - it's a 4 disc "digipak" made of a lighter paper stock than some and there is no pocket for the booklet. As soon as the shrink wrap is off, the book falls out. Now back to the music.

I want to add, a few years ago in Ann Arbor when the Abrams/Lewis/Mitchell group presented the second set of the evening, somewhere in there, Muhal had a solo where his hands seemed to be completely independent. I hope Greg K was there. I hope to some day have a recording of this or have my brain erased.

I first met Muhal in 1966. I was adrift and moved to Chicago because of the reports of his work in Down Beat. This led me to Roscoe, Bowie, Jarman, Braxton, Anderson, etc. Muhal and his amazing wife Peggy have been friends and advisers for over 40 years.

I thought she looked moderately irritated. That seems to be a trait I walk around with. Forgive the sentence structure.

I will if you will It's actually a long, ahem, Jewish tradition, self-deprecating humor and just being publicly Jewish. It's sort of automatic and inbred, and to me harmless. As far as other ethnic groups not referring to themselves, I don't believe that for a second. People are too fucking uptight. Anyway, if there are a lot of Jews here, and there seem to be, and they (we) want to bond or whatever in a harmless way, what's the big deal? No one's getting hurt. As long as at the end of the day you see the big picture and similarities of everyone I don't see the harm. Just my opinion. Oh yeah. Tradition. I forgot about that. I don't have any so I will sit on the sidelines and wait for you to express yourself.
