  1. Silly me, I thought "Prince" referred to a song by Kiss.
  2. Anyone needing catalog listings of Okka, Uptown or Nessa should email me at nessarecords@charter.net .
  3. You must be too influenced by the first cut since you use the word "sappy". You must be too young to have memories of the TV program where this melody served as theme music. Listen to the music if you can't "get" the irony. I hope you love it - I do. Very nice OC date.
  4. It will take them a few years to rewrite their contracts (and damp down the legal depts) to make it reasonable for the indies. Most current agreements give the "owners" pressing rights at their plants and have a 5000 copy minimum and a 3 year term for their leases. BTW, these are "non-exclusive" leases.
  5. You need the JSP in addition to the others. It might duplicate some/all of the OJC (don't remember) but the rest is fine.
  6. Never had the opportunity to experience "sister funk".
  7. So that's where Harry's glasses went.
  8. "What we've got here is...failure to communicate."
  9. Why on earth does anyone pay attention to any sport beyond the JV level anymore?
  10. Back in the day, Grover was (as I remember it) a record buyer at E J Korvettes (anyone remember them?) in Philly. He got a recording date from Creed 'cause he was selling so many records in the store and the salesman made a pitch. Good for him and Creed.
  11. Ok, it's official. I no longer am of this world. We knew that.
  12. This makes me think the stride players of the '20s were an influence somewhere along the road.

  14. It led the way.
  15. Didn't I read this piece a while back? Anyway, he was an interesting actor and seemed to be a positive human being. I wish him and his wife all the best in their remaining time on the planet.
  16. Hope you have/had a great day in Libertyville!
  17. I have both. The cd is a "needle drop".
  18. He's on a half dozen SteepleChase dates including this one.
  19. As one of the few (only) people here who had any relationship with Mr Thompson, I abstain.
  20. Try Louis Armstrong, Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, Ornette Coleman, Cecil Taylor and move on. Good luck.
  21. Yet no person denies the discoveries of Herman Blount and Don Herbert.
