  2. The Evans is. See this thread
  3. whoops - should have read beyond the first 2 paragraphs before I gave up on that one. I saw it but didn't think that was it. Thanks for the link.
  4. Do you have a link to the article? It's not easy to find at www.nysun.com
  5. The Hodges was always on my list but other sets (including the frequent Selects) seemed to jump ahead of the Hodges set. Of course the "running low" status prompted my order. I've been playing this one for most of the weekend and have to say it has quickly become one of my favorite sets (out of 16 full sets and all 31 of the Selects).
  6. Just got mine today and am playing it at the office. Good stuff.
  7. Stanley Turrentine – Look Out! Freddie Redd – Shades Of Redd Horace Silver – Further Explorations Lou Donaldson – Here ‘Tis Wayne Shorter – The Soothsayer Use the links to support Organissimo. However, J&R still has them for $6.99
  8. Do you own Andrew Hill's Passing Ships...or the first Andrew Hill Select? If so....you're welcome for the whining.
  9. I was playing this the other day, first on Rouse's BNB, then on The Lost Sessions Connoisseur. I enjoy One For Five and would love to hear the rest of the session. Maybe it's time for another Lost Sessions volume or maybe even The Rejected Sessions . The Rouse session and the Trainwreck would probably be at the top of the list...but what else? I started a new topic here.
  10. I was playing One For Five the other day, first on Rouse's Bossa Nova Bacchanal, then on The Lost Sessions Connoisseur. I enjoy this track and would love to hear the rest of the session. Maybe it's time for another Lost Sessions volume or maybe even The Rejected Sessions . The Rouse session and the "Trainwreck" would probably be at the top of the list...but what else?
  11. I brought my lunch today so I ordered the Hodges set. Hmmm.... I like how this works.
  12. Build some sort of sculpture out of the tapes, call it art, charge thousands.
  13. TheDigitalBits.com
  14. I contacted CDU Customer Support and they adjusted the Louis Smith price on my order. They also said that they would be updating the site soon to reflect it as a domestic title instead of an import (and from $11.15 to $9.60). They updated their site. Price is $9.60
  15. Jimmy Smith – Live At The Baby Grand V. 1 Jimmy Smith – Live At The Baby Grand V. 2 Ike Quebec – Blue And Sentimental Jutta Hipp With Zoot Sims Here Comes Louis Smith currenty labeled (and priced) as an import on CDU?? Use the links to support Organissimo.
  16. I got my shipping confirmation from NB today.
  17. It shows up on Amazon but if you go directly to Newbury Comics it shows it is back ordered (and shows the original list price $125). I placed an order on Amazon...we'll see what happens.
  18. Okay - because you have listed both Commando and Bill Paxton - try to find Bill Paxton in Commando (and do it without www.imdb.com). He's there. And he's in Stripes too if you can work the pause button on your DVD player.
  19. Aliens - a rare example where the sequel actually takes things up a notch.
  20. I know some other members had problems with recent orders from J&R Music (and apparently problems in the past) but I ordered 16 CDs - 2 of which after I submitted the order I realized showed up as out-of-stock. A few days later I received 15 of the original 16. All at $4.99 a pop - including some Limited Edition OJCs. So while Concord may not have another blow-out sale like the Summer '06 sale (IIRC that was in anticipation of the warehouse move) we will probably see others like J&R have some nice deals from time to time.
  21. Here is a list of the Selects that CD Universe is offering. Sure is some interesting variation in pricing...
  22. I suspect they're either RVG Remasters or Keepnews Collection (I'm not at home otherwise I'd check the engineer/producer on these to shed some light). Concord site doesn't mention them yet.
  23. I stumbled across these over at CD Universe. Looks like they are due out on March 4th, 2008. Cannoball Adderley - In New York Bill Evans - Portrait In Jazz Milt Jackson - Bags Meets Wes! Blue Mitchell - Blue Soul Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners Use the links to support Organissimo.
  24. Order placed January 18th - 4pm Shipped today. 15 of 16 shipped. (2 showed out-of-stock, but only 1 was cancelled). According to UPS they are already in Dallas. Should be here tomorrow. Woohoo!
  25. Many of the drives around 120 GB - 160 GB are bus-powered (USB 2.0 or firewire). I have personally had good luck with IOMEGA portable drives and Western Digital internal (I have heard good things from others about their external drives). You should be able to find these for $120-$150 at the major retailers. Possible cheaper online.
