  1. Didn't you know his boss is one of those "anonymous members" here?
  2. Congratulations, Paul, and good luck finding a new job. By the way, what's "NASD"? (I'm a simple European, so...)

  4. I avoid sellers who only accept Bidpay payments; in my experience they're very expensive and take several days to clear.
  5. I heard him in the mid-1970s in Groningen, Netherlands, with Milt Buckner on piano and others. He was great. Before and after the show I taped an interview with him; unfortunately, I don't know who has the tapes.
  6. According to JC Pete Jolly died on Saturday at the age of 72. Sad news.
  7. ...and many happy returns.
  8. Makes you wonder what? I'm a simple guy, so please explain. Would some posts in the what are you listening to right now thread be sufficient to be allowed to sell or trade stuff? In that case you wouldn't be a newbie anymore, provided that you'd posted at least 10 times Ah, I see.

  10. I think it was rather funny what he did before posting here
  11. C'mon, I just wished him good luck! No harm in that.
  12. as if this thread is any different from most other threads in that respect... Hmm, judging by their post count, some people are contributing heavily...

In that case you wouldn't be a newbie anymore, provided that you'd posted at least 10 times Wich makes the difference between newbie and non-newbie almost non-existent. Edit: BBCode Kidding aside, I was talking about newbies posting solely in the "Offering and Looking for" forum. I should have said "passers-by" instead of "newbies" in my previous posts; that explains my opinion more clearly - I hope.

    Funny Rat

I wonder why reading some of the Org forums makes me thirsty... Edit: grammatical error...

  16. Not sure about that. What makes you think it is a commercial site? Would some posts in the what are you listening to right now thread be sufficient to be allowed to sell or trade stuff? In that case you wouldn't be a newbie anymore, provided that you'd posted at least 10 times
  17. and no one keeps the oldies of taking advantage of that. True, and an incentive for me to donate a few cents every now and then...
  18. Why? Who cares about what a seller with a nice item posts in other forums. The Organissimo forum is not a commercial site and I don't think it should be used by newbies solely for the purpose of selling/trading stuff. we're not talking spame here, merely a trade offer. you still haven't explained why you think this is "not done." this site being commercial or not has very little to do with it all. OK, maybe I should limit it to newbies trying to sell things. I think my last post did explain my point. Jim is paying for a forum (with the help of donations by several regular forum members, I should add), not to make a buck but to give others an opportunity to talk about music etc. As I see it newbies coming here just to sell stuff are taking advantage of that.

  20. and many happy returns.
  21. Well, I don't think it's a bad idea to keep out newbies coming here just to sell or trade stuff.
  22. That's not a bad idea. Over on the SH Forum you're not allowed to post in their version of the "Offering and Looking for..." forum if you have fewer than 20 posts in the other forums.
  23. There's no need for him to be offensive, though.
