The contraction it's of it is is often used as possessive pronoun of it, instead of its.

What about "their" instead of "they're"; I see that a lot.

Don't bother on my account. I have a fundamental difference of opinion with Mike Ricci which I don't want to go into here, and I'm not interested in posting on AAJ anymore.

I'm listening to this disc right now. I'm not sure I like what I'm hearing, it's Mahanthappa's tone that's increasingly bothering me; it has a kind of "nagging" or "whining" quality that doesn't appeal to me. I have to revise my earlier comment: once I got used to Mahanthappa's tone I liked this disc a lot better. I will have to play it again soon, though. I've just listened to this CD for the third time now, and I have to revert to my original opinion, or even worse: I don't like it. I find Mahanthappa's playing flat, nothing special, and I don't like his tone. Time to sell this one and the Vijay Iyer CD Blood Sutra.

Amos Milburn (1927-1980) was one of the exponents of 1940s/1950s Texas/West Coast Rhythm & Blues. This set, which contains Milburn's 1946-1956 Aladdin recordings, is one of the better Mosaic sets in my opinion, with good sound, but, like Lon and Brownie indicated, it has to be taken in not too large doses.

I can imagine it now: "Hi Tony ... Shazam! These tripped out sessions from France contain some of the most ground-breaking music we've ever heard! Take it from us! At times, the music from these recordings hits that modally searching angular spiritual groove that was so prevalent in the air in France during the late 60's, but it never goes too far out, like other albums from this time, and reaches down for plenty of off-kilter solos that never fail to create a vibe which is like nothing we've heard before! We don't know what was in the water in France at this time, but it sure made for some killer tracks — a sort of longing for sadness behind the clouds, but a sadness that always puts a smile on our face. Tracks include ... oh, did you want the price?"
