  1. I remember when we, from the BNBB, decided to land at the Harlem.Org site. Wayne wrote that he didn't "have time for riff raff. Not politics. Not sports." Memories from Harlem. I will not hesitate in closing threads, accounts, banning IP numbers. I want 90% of the people to have a good experience. I simply don't have time for riff raff. I'm amazed the Harlem.org site still exists
  2. Stefan's eBay auctions link
  3. And what's gotten in to you? I don't get kicks out of Jankowski ... and tolerate a passion for his music only from people I know who have broad tastes which seems to be the case for this newbie I remember hearing Jankowski's 1965 hit Eine Schwarzwaldfahrt (the English translation was A Walk in the Black Forest...) ad nauseam everywhere while on vacation in the Black Forest that year...
  4. Oh no, I just noticed deus62 has started having birthdays again...
  5. I couldn't agree more.
  6. Thanks for the update, Alison. My best wishes!
  7. The exact date of the January and February 2005 releases is now known.
  8. I'm thinking about getting rid of a large part of my avant-garde/free/improv collection; I'm totally fed up with a lot of the albums.
  9. As far as I know some of these have been available for some time. I picked up Deals, Ideas and Ideals and Come Sunday months ago (they're on my sale list, by the way )
  10. Great sale, Chuck.
  11. Just past eleven am and it looks fine (IE6).
  12. Hoffman is referring to the regular OJCs, not the K2s, which he doesn't like at all because of the bumped-up highs.
  13. These CDs were released in one of the first "TOCJ" series (TOCJ-5XXX), way back in the early 1990s if I remember correctly. They're extremely hard to find.
  14. Fantasy sold to Concord thread.
  15. All three volumes did come out as 24-bit remastered reissues in Europe. I got a copy of Vol.2 from Amazon UK earlier this year.

    Funny Rat

Remember: I still have one of your CDs. You're getting busy, Tony B-)
  17. When I was still bidding on LP auctions in the 1970s and 1980s, for some reason Jeff Barr's prices didn't reach the astronomical heights of Leon Leavitt's prices.
  18. Jim (B3-er) said in this thread he'd increase the PM size.
  19. Maybe he now lives in TX...
  20. As far as I know Jeff Barr moved from the East Coast (NY?) to Florida and then to southern California.
  21. Cross Section Saxes is listed here (scroll down).
  22. Great story, Garth. There was someone like Leon Leavitt in Belgium, with a collection of 100,000+ original jazz and blues LPs. A friend of mine visited him in the 1970s and was totally shattered afterwards...
  23. For that price I'd grab it, despite it being spotty.
  24. I hardly play this set, but it's great. Highly recommended.
  25. Of course, you're right, I should have remembered that (I had the T-set back in my vinyl days). Sorry.
