  1. The board is extremely slow again today.
  2. Same here.
  3. Well, maybe they didn't include the Coltrane-less tracks because it was the "Miles with Coltrane" box Seriously, I seem to remember someone on the "old board" posted something about a disc or set that would include those Coltrane-less Mobley tracks from Someday, but I'm not sure.
  4. Gary, you can delete the thread yourself by going to the menu at the lower left hand corner and choose "delete this topic" or whatever it says.
  5. It's the lost post count... damn! you have to rub it in dontcha? My bank isn't too happy, I used my 3,000+ BNBB posts as a collateral for my overdraft...
  6. So am I. It's almost a year ago, for crying out loud...
  7. Which recent RVG purchase??
  8. Isn't it great, it feels like the BNBB all over again...

    Funny Rat

Is it DA SHIT or what?!?!?!?! If using this kind of language is a prerequisite to be allowed to take part in this thread, I'll pass. By the way, Arcana Major is a wonderful album.
  10. According to Mosaic's Scott the Tal Farlow set will be out in June 2004.
  11. I just got a message from Mosaic's Scott that the Farmer-Golson will be out in the fall. He also said that the Tal Farlow Verve / Mosaic will be out in June.
  12. Not as far as I know.
  13. Wonder how long it'll last: click here...
  14. I did get all the Japanese Jazztet reissues... Oh well, the Mosaic set will probably have more material by this great band.
  15. You're welcome.
  16. I have the two CDs I listed, and took the info from the booklets.

  18. I'll post some details here later.
  19. I think it was generous of AAJ's Mike Ricci to tolerate the thread as long as he did. I very much doubt he'll tolerate threads pimping other boards again.
  20. The sixth edition was published in 2002, so I'm guessing there'll be a new Penguin Guide this year (they're publishing one every other year).
  21. Off topic (but only slightly): AAJ has deleted the "Organissimo down" thread.
  22. You probably posted something they didn't quite like, and they wanted to know more details before deciding whether or not to give you the boot in a week or so... Suppose you were one of Steve H's relatives, they daren't touch those, of course
  23. I just got this SACD: and the CD-layer turned out to be a disappointment. It sounds pretty bad, even worse than the Fantasy K2 I have (let me hasten to add: to my ears and on my system ). It was never one of Riverside's better recordings, but I had not expected the CD-layer of the SACD to sound as bad as this. I'm guessing the master tape has deteriorated badly over time, or this wasn't one of Fantasy's better remastering jobs. Pity. Edit: I just realized I completely disagree with Claude on this one. Isn't it fun, all these various and diverse opinions and perceptions! Another edit: let there be no misunderstanding: the music is essential in my opinion Final edit: I'm playing the discs on Mark Levinson-fed electrostatic speakers and a REL subwoofer.
