I was raised on Miller Lite, so that remains a staple in my diet. Guinness has replaced the milk of my childhood. I'm not a beer snob, though I think I did try for a while. Turns out bad beer is better than tap water. Might as well feel something and hydrate at the same time right? Too many "micro brews." Most every pale ale, especially India pale ale has sucked. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is the most over-rated beer friends have tried to push on me. Acme Pale Ale crushes it. I thought I didn't like "Pale Ale" because it is widely accepted that Sierra makes THE "pale ale." Turns out Pale Ale is actually not a bad style. Wheat beers? Please. There are very few that I like enough to order over a Miller Lite. Hold the lemon. What is that all about? Samuel Smith Organic Ale. Very nice. Worth every penny. Most beer is overpriced, until you consider the price of gasoline, or water. Enjoy yourself. You'll want something to drink. Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think.

People think, they just don't think long term. I bought a Land Rover because I wanted my co-workers to think I was successful. Saving money on gas or car payments isn't going to get me anywhere. I can't take it with me! I need 8 cylinders and enough horsepower to get me through a shallow river, especially in the suburbs where the local government has the budget to keep the roads well paved. Not to mention the leather interior. These are all modern day necessities. You all are stuck in the past.

I was in town, but the girls I was hanging with weren't interested in going to hear any high priced jazz, which was a real bummer. I was very much looking forward to hearing this orchestra. I couldn't get them interested in Gunther Hampel, Perry Robinson, Lou Grassi either and it was only $10! Damnit. I really would have loved that too! We ended up in Williamsburgh listening to a singer/songwriter rock quintet featuring a cellist. It was actually ok once I stopped thinking about all of the great music elsewhere in the vicinity that I was missing. Thanks for the reviews!

The Birth of The Stone A New Artists' Space in the East Village The Stone is a not-for-profit performance space dedicated to the EXPERIMENTAL and AVANT-GARDE. Each month a different musician is responsible for curating the programs with 100% of the nightly revenue going directly to the musicians. There are no refreshments or merchandise at The Stone. Only music. All ages are welcome. The Stone is booked purely on a curatorial basis. We do not accept demos of any kind. .:. This sounds like a fantastic idea. There are some real heavies on the April schedule. Milford Graves, Joe McPhee, Perry Robinson, Pheeroan Ak Laff, and lots in between. They are booked solid! Looking forward to some of these recordings, and hopefully catching a show or two before we move.

sent: I've been having this dream. William Carlos Williams and I are playing table tennis vs. Lowell George and an anonymous Spanish gypsy carrying a fife in his back pocket. Mr. Williams has a menacingly destructive forehand, and he's playing to the left of me, which means I have to slide right every time our unlikely opponents slice a return down the middle. I'm not getting much action here, and Mr. Williams continuously urges me to read Rainer Maria Rilke. Lowell has DJ duties and is content with the same Joao Gilberto side over and over again. Its actually kind of nice. The gypsy is sort of out of place. To this day, I don't know what he's doing there, but he's drinking from a plastic concert cup that reads: 10KLF 10,000 LAKES FESTIVAL featuring the sounds of ORGANISSIMO

Well its not too late... he's still here. Maybe I'm a little hard on RI. It has been a good three years, but my philosophy is Rhode Island is best left to the Rhode Islanders. There are still plenty of unspoiled areas in Rhode Island that really amazed me. Such a varying terrain for such a small state.

Oh yeah... the way he does Giant Steps is pretty incredible!
