  1. You're not Peter Dunn, are you? Nope! But I still come across his inner sleeves (riddled with bible quotes) and the odd LP with his stickers. His stores closed before I got seriously into records. I was too busy at Vortex, Sam's and A&A anyway.
  2. I'm still getting used to browsing LP racks next to women! Seriously, it's been such a male-dominated hobby for so long. Nice to see a broader section of the population getting excited over records. So what if they're playing them on some crappy Crosley turntable or just buying them to hang on their walls - to each their own. I'm the guy exchanging good money for free jazz records, so what do I know? I will say this though: if anything ever happened to my records (flood/fire/theft/etc.) I wouldn't start again. It would be financially impossible.
  3. An incredible, one-of-a-kind label. It should be noted that all prices include worldwide shipping. This label is a completely selfless venture that exists for the love of the music!
  4. Yes, but I bought it directly from the label, so I don't know if that helps!
  5. Nitty Gritty 1.0 - it allows me to clean a record exactly how i want to.
  6. Wish I had seen this 30 minutes ago. Just attended Daniel Fortin's CD release for 'Brinks' on Fresh Sound New Talent. $10 and a fantastic quartet of modern modal jazz.
  7. Wow, kinda surprised that the Carter is clearly a needle drop.
  8. Yes, been using the Zerodust Onzow for years without issues. It also helps that I'll never play a record without cleaning it with my Nitty Gritty either..
  9. It was very kind of you, Chuck. Thanks for having done so!
  10. Now $45, which is what I paid for it. She goes on discogs on Monday!
  11. Recently upgraded, so looking to sell my copy purchased from Chuck way back in 2008. Outer cardboard box in excellent condition, as are both fat-boy jewel cases and inserts. The booklet and Disc C are provided on separate CD-R discs (meaning, there is no physical booklet, but it's provided in .PDF form, and only 4 of the 5 discs are original silver CDs). $50 USD (plus shipping) Thanks for looking!
  12. I really like purchasing my CDs via Bandcamp. It supports the artists directly, and there's tons of soundclips. Here's a list of interesting labels who do business via this platform. 13. I'm devastated to hear this. Just purchased a copy of his new book and a CD from him two months ago. A wonderful musician with amazing taste in wine!
  14. This looks incredible. To live in Brooklyn would be amazing musically. Clifford, will you be going?
  15. A little rich for my blood, but maybe just what your loft-space lacks? http://eremite.com/album/bro-6
  16. Noticed Squidco was out of stock of 3 Nights at Cafe Oto so I ordered directly from the label. Much cheaper too! In my experience, things like this go OOP quickly.
  17. No way I'd pay $125 for the Berlin box without .pdf's of the books. If they were included, sure!

  19. Apparently this was at an Eric Dolphy tribute show last month. Couldn't find any mention of it anywhere on here so I hope it's not a re-post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr9WfkpugDQ
  20. PM sent re: Ellis, Herb Herb Ellis Meets Jimmy Giuffre Verve Elite 5
  21. Agreed. Found a sealed OG on eBay 2-3 years ago and can attest to the lo-fi presentation. Doesn't detract from the music though.
  22. Great piece, Chuck, thanks for posting it! I once placed an order via the official ESP-DISK site (some CDs, a DVD, and a book of the label's history), and still hadn't received it after a month or longer. I emailed them a copy of my PayPal receipt, and shortly after received a call from Bernard personally. He apologized for having misplaced the order, and promised to have it right in the mail. When it arrived, he had personally inscribed his book to me. I thought it was really cool that he took the time to call me and make sure things were made right. I can't speak on his dealings with any of the musicians he recorded, but I will always celebrate his label. ESP-DISK made some incredible, vital albums, and the label is entirely unique in design.
  23. From the back of Delmark's recent issue of an Anthony Braxton Sackville date:
