  1. How exactly would this album fit into it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/KENO-DUKE-CONTEMPORARIES-Sense-Values-Strata-East-/400253141878?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item5d30f24376
  2. I recall this box being available on Amazon, CD Universe, etc. six months ago and never bit the bullet. Are they all gone again? Was it re-pressed, or was some dead stock found somewhere a la the Joe Henderson box and the Art Pepper Galaxy box?
  3. By original copy, I'm assuming you want a 747 Lexington Ave. address cover? Keep an eye on eBay for a copy with a thrashed disc but passable cover. Be prepared to still pay 40-50 bucks.
  4. Bob Stewart the tuba player who worked with Arthur Blythe?
  5. PM'd the OP on both, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!
  6. I saw a few on eBay or Amazon a year ago, and they were sitting unsold for something silly like $1,000. $3-$5 a disc seems more reasonable to me.
  7. Are the following still available? Charles Tyler - Eastern Man Alone (19?? ESP-Disk - ZYX-Music) $5 Henry Grimes Trio - The Call (19?? ESP-Disk - ZYX-Music) $5 Frank Lowe - Black Beings (19?? ESP-Disk - ZYX-Music) $5 Paul Bley Quintet - Barrage (19?? ESP-Disk - ZYX-Music) $5 New York Eye and Ear Control (19?? ESP-Disk - ZYX-Music) $5 Revolutionary Ensemble (19?? ESP-Disk - ZYX-Music) $5 Archie Shepp - Attica Blues (1991 Impulse Japan w/Obi - jewel case edition) $10 Archie Shepp - The New York Contemporary Five (1991 Storyville) $10
  8. While I'm sorry to hear that a thread got locked, one must remember that this is a private website and the owners/webmasters can do whatever they want to any of our posts. I'm all for starting a new forum made by and for the members, but I can't promise people would be any more happy with that - I'd probably be overly permissive and offer no censorship at all.
  9. Will this ever see the light of day on DVD? I emailed the folks at http://mynameisalbertayler.com/ and the producer himself replies that it'd be available in mere months. That was two years ago.
  10. The artwork on these is just horrendous! Nothing will beat those 20-bit digipaks they did from 1995-2000.
  11. I'm just grateful for everything that Blue Note gave to the music over the years. From 1939 to about 1967 it's contribution to the arts was astounding. We were even treated to the Connoisseur and RVG series until a few years ago. You can't fight progress. This Don Was fellow doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.
  12. According to www.discogs.com, it was "Recorded live in New York City, October 5, 1985." Many of the privately pressed jazz records I own sound far worse, but the music more than makes up for it!
  13. Bill Harper, "The Awakening" What pressing is this? US? Japanese?
  14. What a beautiful video. Kalaparusha is a living god to me. His ideas sprout so organically from his horn.
  15. Did any of the folks ordering from amazon.fr get their boxes yet? It looks like the new batch isn't out until September 28th.
  16. Didn't see anything posted on here yet, but just found out that Noah Howard has died. May one of my heroes and a true musical god rest in peace.
  17. Just got this email: Dear Peter, sorry for the delay to respond to you but we are closed for summer break. The Box Sets will available soon on our web site www.camjazz.com Best Regards Simone
  18. I emailed CAM to ask if they were going to be selling this batch of the direct like they did for the first sets. I didn't hear anything back, which suggests they might be on vacation?
  19. One last thing to mention: do you have proper record mailers to send your items with? As someone who just received a cracked copy of a Mike Osborne on Ogun due to it being wrapped in loose brown paper, I can't tell you how important proper packaging is!
  20. You've received some excellent advice so far in this thread. I would truly wait until the end of September to sell any of your more desirable LPs. Why not put together some of your less expensive 'common' titles and build up your feedback now, so that when you do come to selling your heavy-hitters, people will see your history of great feedback. Best of luck!
  21. Weird, I just noticed that my thoughtful reply to this fellow has been deleted without explanation. Is simply suggesting that he would get more money for his auctions at the end of the summer forbidden? I wish I had had an eBay seller with 11 years experience give me good hints like that when I was starting out, but since the guy sold 4 of his 28 records, he clearly doesn't need any advice. It would be nice to be given an explanation when my posts are deleted though.
  22. I don't get it - are the LPs on eBay or not? The links in the word document are truncated and therefore do not work. Trying to search eBay for some of your auctions yields nothing.
  23. Seriously? Let me look into that! Will PM you instead. Thanks for the heads up.
