  1. I'm most interested in your 'un-organized mailing list'. How does one join?
  2. A crucial, brutally honest voice. Does anyone know if/when the album 'Closeness' is coming out?
  3. Yes, apparently Ayler handles the SIlkheart mail order. I just can't afford $25/disc for them, and one never sees them in the used bins.
  4. I grabbed 10 discs from this sale. Thanks for the reminder, fellas! This isn't the first 2-for-1 sale they've held. I'm very grateful for the chance to get so much great music. Does Silkheart ever go on sale too?
  5. Great news! I suggest ordering directly from C vs. D. I believe their office is right beside DGA anyway if memory serves?
  6. Great interview! Recently found the Eddie Johnson date on LP for a measly $3.99, and looking forward to it.
  7. Can anyone comment on the sound quality of the 2008 digipack reissue of Paul Bley's 'Barrage'? The German XYZ is very muffled and most certainly a needle-drop. Is the 2008 reissue indeed sound like it mastered from the original tapes?
  8. Really looking forward to both the Carter/Bradford and the Horace Tapscott. Equally!
  9. I bought my copy of 'Urge' from DMG. It's a professional cd-r issue (as are the other 6-7 in the series I also got from them), but I don't know if that's a deal-breaker for you.
  10. Just got this in the mail today and am delighted! http://tinyurl.com/b8wbryp I didn't own a single title, and at $4.89 CDN per disc (including shipping), I thought I should share this great buy.
  11. The Rolling Stones love playing in Toronto before tours. People hung outside the school they rehearsed in a few years ago hoping for a glimpse or to hear a stray note or two. Around that time I went to see a jazz collection that someone had clearly been through already - turns out Charlie Watts was that someone.
  12. First I enjoyed this in an audience of about 50 people (did anyone here attend?): http://music.cbc.ca/#/blogs/2012/11/Percussionist-Pheeroan-akLaff-premieres-1979s-House-of-Spirit-Mirth-in-Toronto Then on the way home I finally found a used copy of this for $99.99: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Complete_Live_at_the_Plugged_Nickel_1965 What a day!
  13. The Black Jazz masters were for sale on craigslist a year or two back for some totally unreasonable amount. Most of them were cheaply reissued back in 2006 or 2007. When it comes to Black Jazz, the covers were often the best part of the album.
  14. Spine up? With the open side of the LP on the bottom? Unless I'm not understanding, this is a horrible idea!
  15. The Dwight Andrews is excellent. Everyone should visit Bobby Naughton's site and order records from him! I don't think he had the Andrews available though.
  16. I'd like these please. I was very impressed with the last LPs I bought from you! Delmark lot - 2LPs 10 shipped -Malachi Thompson - Spirit - Delmark (stereo) DS-442 white label promo - hole punch VG(+)/NM -Frank Walton - Reality (w/Henry Threadgill) - Delmark DS 436 white label - corner clip + small stickers on front - writing on front and back VG/EX
  17. This incredible post contains some of the most observant thoughts Pete C ever released! Downright accurate!
  18. Great list! However, I cannot figure out how to view beyond 'B' in the alphabet.
  19. http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/extension/id345686905 Samples here! Sounds really tight.
