  1. Pristine condition copy of the first German pressing.
  2. Must pull that one out again. Is there a bad Kenny Burrell album? I don't think so.
  3. If it's not too wild, my wife loves jazz. She prefers trad and swing, or anything with a definite groove. The rest depends on her mood. When she's relaxed she will appreciate even complex music.
  4. Finally located the boxes. The first contains # 4 to 15, 25, and 37 to 61, as well as some special mailings on the Commodore and Nat King Cole boxes. What do you need?
  5. Galuppi was an excellent composer on the level of Vivaldi and others. The bassoon concerto here (transcription of a flute concerto) is a beauty! Sara Mingardo sings with the timbre of a countertenor, which suits the piece perfectly. You can imagine how a castrato sounded.
  6. That's a real classic of a sexy cover.
  7. Duh ..... But I have most of what's in there.
  8. Some of our facebook group members admitted to have been more on facebook than here and said they want to visit the forum more now. So the effect is positive! BTW I had trouble finding it myself again as it really does not show up anywhere, not even in my (public) activities list! No fear ...
  9. California based drum legend Joe Porcaro (whose sons founded the pop group Toto) has passed. https://www.rockcellarmagazine.com/joe-porcaro-dies-at-90-rest-in-peace-drummer/ He played on some of Emil Richards' and Dave MacKay's LPs that helped me learn the "new rhythms".
  10. This afternoon and evening:
  11. Thanks. Better than dying without having heard them.
  12. No!!! Never eat that stuff. C'mon folks - no way I will start some food business. Plenty good facilities out there. Although the jazz in the background is missing with all those existing. The facebook group exists, BTW - I didn't open it, but those that we knew already were on fb were invited and have joined. All private, not viewable by the general public, no discussions. We just know we are there.
  13. Is there really no other CD reissue of the four titles ( plus one alternate) that trombonist Vic Dickenson recorded for Blue Note in 1952 than the Mosaic Box Set with Edmond Hall etc.? I'd really love to hear these .....
  14. Picked Pee Wee Russell tracks from the Beiderbecke/Trumbauer/Teagraden, Coleman Hawkins, and H.R.S sets yesterday afternoon. Great to have this music at hand when reading about it in the biography.
  15. Well ..... judging by this chilly summer, I'm skeptical.
  16. Very nice recording on period instruments. They don't try to make the music greater than it is, which is absolutely perfect. I wish Mozart or Beethoven would be played with the same unpretentious attitude.
  17. The last album released under Pee Wee Russel's name:
  18. Got a used copy in excellent condition for a few bucks. Nice read.
  19. You don't know German food control? Lousy in controlling big business (like the slaughterhouse with hundreds of Covid-19 infected workers), but hard on small one man enterprises. No, thank you.
  20. Moacir Santos' last two albums are top notch, this was the last:
  21. There are things I am better at doing than ice cream or middle eastern food trucks. I will pass on this request to people more competent in this respect. Aah no - there all located over here .....
