I'm open for suggestions of any other internet platform or medium to have a means of communication outside this forum in case of an unexpected shutdown. But using Jazz Talk is not a good idea, I think, as there always is some kind of competition between two forums. Perhaps setting up an emergency mailing list is an alternative? Again, no competition intended, and I only got the idea as many board members are already there. Without a clear vote from here I'd never start such a thing.

I'd never post any serious inquiry on facebook, not even if there were a jazz group. The place for that is here, and I would refer anybody to do that here. The sole function in my eyes would be to summon all people being both on this forum and on facebook, just for the option to get in touch, in case .....

AFAIK there is the option of having the group only open to accepted members, which was what I had in mind. I thought of a situation a while back when the forum was down for some reason and I was glad to have a few people's e-mail adresses to find out what was happening. By no means I want to draw activity away from here. I got the idea in the first place because many board members already are on facebook and it would be nice to have them somehow connected, as their forum names and facebook identities are not always the same.

45`s are almost always neglected or omitted in jazz discographies - Lord doesn't list this one. My experience is one must be careful and listen and compare: sometimes the 45 have simply edited or faded out versions, but there are many with an entirely different take of a shortened arrangement. You are making me curious. What is your source for these pics?

It was only last month that I learned about her death of cancer at the age of 59 in September, 2019. I'm still in a state of shock about this. One of my favourite singers.

Got this today. I like Teddy Edwards her much more than on any other album I have heard him play. Will look for more from this year. And just as I asked myself if there were more records with Billy Higgins in an organ combo (after hearing him on Shirley Scott's Strata East album) - well, here 'tis!
