  1. These four guys are magnificdent!
  2. Not with - without, of course. I have a spell check at work in my browser that sometimes does unpredictable things.
  3. Yes, but no way I would want to sleep in that kind of bedroom. That said: bare feet rarely seem to come along without other naked body parts.
  4. Vexations is the apotheosis of Satie's idea of musique d'ameublement - no more, no less.
  5. Strangely, I heard distortion in the sax on one CD player, but on another (higher priced) all was okay, and the sound was very good. The music is evern better, some of the best Scott I ever heard.
  6. I'm slowly making progress in writing an excel file similar to the ones the Japanese reissue producers made for the first sessions (see my uploads linked on page 1). As TTK requested I will rather comment on the contents and styles of the albums and post my thoughts on the music than continuing the cumbersome presentation of discographical details. These will all be found in the table.
  7. Thanks for posting! Perhaps my favourite bass/drums team ...
  8. Got a bunch of bargain CDs yesterday, all excelltn:
  9. As a consequence to this discussion two organissimo forum members asked me for friendship on facebook. Perhaps this will do the job for me. Please feel free to ask me, fellow boarders! https://www.facebook.com/michael.weil.96
  10. He used the same basic pattern, played in a slower tempo, for his intro and groove on Julius Watkins's first Blue Note ten inch LP, on Linda Delia. It's a drum set adaptation of a toque called "afro-cubano" or "son afro", derived from ceremonial rhythms played on bata drums. Chano Pozo based most of his solo features in the Gillespie orchestra (in which Clarke also played) on this.
  11. Excellent recording of these harpsichord works. The complete third book, including the rarely recorded pieces for harpsichord with violin accompaniment.
  12. Did they place all of the solo piano tracks on the same disc?
  13. Still available, btw - will check it out.
  14. Anyone remember that UK TV series, The Prisoner", with Patrick McGoohan?
  15. Yes, please!!! Bresna's description of the differences between both media are on point!
  16. I too, think, that we should not make too big a deal about it. For our Grand Poobah, FB is a means of promoting his musical activities (the band has its own FB page, too) and an outlet for his political opinions, which is fine. Political discussions, in general, tend to become a drag on forums. I believe most of us are glad that we do not have that here. I like the "break glass in case of emergency" comparison, and I too, do not see the risk of moving any discussion there, as I, as a moderator of that group, would clearly state that the function of that group plainly is too have all forum members under one umbrella for contact in case of ...... just like a mailing list. This forum is for exchanging and discussing info and opinions, FB would be just a place where you can find and contact some people and spread important news. He probably would, but could be too busy dealing with any issues concerning the board to find the time and post there. We're friends on FB, and I follow his activities there, like the post of photos from his tours, and saw the band perform in the streamings. I will have a look at his friends list. Perhaps that already is what I had in mind.
  17. Almost blue .....
  18. Currently listening to this via YouTube - much better than I expected!
