  1. I will pm you. Thanks for the offer.
  2. I never really felt the urge to get me a copy as I have all of it on single CD reissues, except for the Dicky Wells session and the newly found alternates. No this catches me at a very bad moment, financially. Looks like I have to pass. Maybe some good soul will make me a CDR with the few tracks I don't have ...
  3. I remember her name on this board, a real fan. Sad story, way too young. R.I.P.
  4. Looks like the whole Riverside LP is on YouTube, in single tracks. He recorded a few singles as early as 1949, some with Ed Wiles or under his leadership. The two recorded a whole LP for Atlantic, but only one single was released.
  5. Yes, but that is the only way to slow down the spreading of the virus, as you can carry it without having symptoms. It makes sense. My wife and I both work with handicapped and/or old people, and they are the most endangered. We keep a distance, wash hands, and limit our social contacts to a minimum. No reason to panic, just discipline yourselves and stay cool. We bought some basic food and stuff to get over the next weeks in case of quarantene. but not as crazy as other people.
  6. I was glad when it finally was reissued on CD. Excellent album. Great singer, great band.
  7. I listened to this again on sunday. Beautiful music. I should have kept the LP just for the cover .....
  8. I think you're right ...... R.I.P., Mr. Smith.
  9. The end of an era, in its own way. R.I.P.
  10. I was shocked to read this. The Darmstadt Jazz Institute sent an e-mail to announce this - they had scheduled her for an appearance later this year, so it must have surprised everybody. I never saw her perform, but what I heard on the radio was very good. R.I.P., and sincere condolences to her husband.
  11. I had to chime in on that one .....Tjader recorded that tune in the early 1970s, but this is the original Version by someone who was an important inspiration for Tjader to usw the vibes in a Latin context. I will not give it away right now. Is that Danny Gatton on track 8?
  12. The only ones I still have - IIRC - are the Hartman and the Basie, which both sound great.
  13. Saw this only now, glad to see all went well. My best wishes for both of you!
  14. My sincere condolences - the dream of all loving couples, to pass on so closely ....
  15. This box set arrived here one and a half hours ago - Jazz Messengers still had a few copies, and after doing some unexpected sales of rare books I decided to get me one. Listening to a track or two from each session. Much good music to hear. The Johnny Hartmann session in particular.
