I decided to go for the Quincy Jones - that's the one I want the most, and I can sell or give away the two Impulse and ABC discs I already have. Glad to see there are no overlaps with the 4 CD European Concerts box I have. I see both the Jazz Crusaders and the Akiyoshi/Tabackin are now on Last Chance - these happen to be the two I ordered months ago ... my instincts seemto be working properly. Got the Hutcherson Select, and now it's gone. But right now I don't have the money, although the Quincy, Hamp, and Woody are on my wish list ...

I'd rather uninstall the Media Player and download and install the latest version available from Microsoft. Do you have several different Media Players and/or disc burners installed? This can cause problems because all these programs partly use the same scripts - if one software changes anything, the others won't recognize it anmore. I bought my Windows 8 notebook last summer and in contrast to XP never had a problem. ... but take care you have installed all the Windows updates!

Same here - I only know his atractive tune "Next Spring" which Les McCann sang on his Pacific Jazz vocal album. JPC has 30 second samples of the frist disc - reminds me of many soul tinged pianists of the day, like Ramsey Lewis or Gene Harris or McCann, but has not as much individuality, it seems. His rendition of "Cubano Chant" is rather sloppy. Listen to Ray Bryant in comparison. I'm undecided ...

FWIW - Fresh Sound just reissued 7 CDs of Jonah Jones, two LPs on each of them: Link All from the Capitol catalog.

..... but used copies are available at rather high prices only .... I hope for a Japanese reissue.
