Just found it! BTW this is a very good recording, interpretation and sound-wise, of very rare music, and using the proper piano, a Silbermann copy!

I know, but right now there is no other source for the cover, not even on the label's website. I intend to replace it as soon it is featured somewhere else. BTW I as the poster, see it too!

Just to add that all the links I posted will not work anymore. Her own website hosted by JazzCorner was soon deactivated, and CD Baby no longer has a webshop. You can find her CDs as used copies on discogs, of course. Too bad.

One of my underrated favourites is Earl May, whom most may know from his participation on an early Coltrane Prestige session (but even the CD reissue does not include the alternate take of the Blues tune): What really opened up my ears for his playing was this Mickey Tucker album:

This LP sounds like it is monophonic! If il had a mono switch on my amp l would have checked it. Just put on the CD for comparison - the LP copy l have is indeed mono!

The base is Cuban, but of course filtered through Californian influences. With Bobby Matos, Rudy Calzado, Victor Pantoja, Eddie Cano there is quite some Californian Cuban/Latin prominence on board.

Better, sound wise and for the conception, more successful than Ambos Mundos. Harvey Mason was excellent at adapting himself to the Cuban groove, Eddie Marshall much less so.
