  1. really? I didn't know there was more
  2. Two masters, being masterful
  3. OK, just checked and I have 17 titles on the label, less than I thought. Top five fwiw: Sabir Mateen - Urdla XXX Indigo Trio - The Ethiopean Princess meets the tantric priest. Because you get Michel Edelin and Nicole Mitchell on one disc Joshua Abrams - Unknown known Nicole Mitchell - Engraved In The Wind Joelle Leandre - Sisters Where Also, the LP release by Rob Mazurek & Jeff Parker
  4. Joshua Abrams Quartet - Unknown Known; Absolutely this one
  5. It's a very good label in my experience. I'll think of some particular titles and post them later but their recordings of Joelle Leander and Nicole Mitchell, together and separately are all winners. Lots of good Roscoe and one particular favourite is Sabir Mateen's solo disc.
  6. It did indeed
  7. I once ordered an LP box set from an Italian vendor and received two copies within a couple of days of each other. The box set had been discussed on this board and another UK member had mentioned they'd ordered it too. It was little surprise that I ended up shipping him his copy that had come to me by mistake (with the cost of the extra shipping covered by the vendor).
  8. That's a lot less of a flute album than it's name suggests You beat me to it That's a fine album. In fact I could list ten or so of hers, in various sized bands, that are well worth trying. Two of my favourites, very different from each other but both showing her complete facility with her instruments
  9. I saw her perform that, stunning evening's music. Coincidentally I was listening to this today for the first time in a long while
  10. Saw that band, at least once
  11. Playing 'Mexican Green' and his contributions are absolutely central to the success of the album.
  12. Spike Wells has tweeted that Ron Mathewson, the great bassist on so many recordings, has died. Jazz In Britain also sent a message to the same effect. Another Covid victim.
  13. I guess that rather depends on the mother-in-law concerned...is she more of a bebopper?
  14. Thanks, That's been on my 'to investigate' list for some time. Maybe I just should. edit: just looked at it again and realised my issue with it - Christian Lillinger, whose playing I really don't enjoy, having tried on numerous releases/occasions - undoubted technique but he needs to realise he doesn't have to shove it down everyone's throat all the time.
  15. The music rates pretty near that as far as I'm concerned Your replacement hopefully
  16. Mine's arrived. First listen happening now - slight warp {there's that quality control again) doesn't seem to be affecting playback, thankfully.
  17. I don't know Schwerdt but I would travel some distance to see Guy and Sommer together live, not so sure about a recording. Also, timings suggest 1CD but below the puff it states 2CD
  18. I wasn't too convinced by the line-ups on the Watts disc. I will interested to hear what you make of it.
  19. Yes that piqued my interest this morning. Looks like a fasciminating set. I'm pleased about the solo disc as I've not heard his other solo disc
  20. Matthew Halsall - Salute To The Sun [Gondwana]
  21. Only just snagged it, prompted by a thread elsewhere on the board a few weeks ago
  22. John Coltrane Quartet - Creation [Blue Parrott] a new favourite
  23. Dezron Douglas & Brandee Younger - Force Majeure [International Anthem] perfect Sunday afternoon listening
