  1. Thanks for posting this. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Some lovely Bobby Watson, music and words as a bonus
  2. Yeah, I like that one too.
  3. This again. Side One, track one is unbelievably good. Like a Pharoah Impulse but with trumpet
  4. Me too now. Thanks for bumping it Rooster Ties. I find Charles's music, and his crowd, endlessly fascinating and listenable
  5. Terumasa Hino Sextet - Fuji [Victor] really enjoying the first listen to this. Thanks again HutchFan
  6. The second of those is knockout, only discovered it this week
  7. Previously Terumasa Hino/ Reggie workman - A Part [Love Records, 2020] and now Lloyd McNeill Quartet - Washington Suite [Universal Sounds 2017]
  8. The big surprise for me was the one with Tony Coe, superb. 'Cyro' has been in my sights for a while now I have a couple of the Companys, Epiphany & Epiphanies I-VI. Both well worth the entry fee despite the first being 45rpm and having some sudden, abrupt track endings. HJ told me these were on the originals, who am I to argue.
  9. Showing as 'out of stock' on the website now.
  10. This is a boutique release I don't see it coming cheap anywhere. Maybe if you tell yourself that it has Mal as an uncredited guest?
  11. No Smooth Jazz? Oto probably not the best source... I'm interested in that book too
  12. https://www.juno.co.uk/artists/Black+Unity+Trio/ I got confirmation from Gotta Groove today that Juno have bought copies from them so you might yet be in luck Pim
  13. Just listening to 'Emanation' now and I'm struck by how strong the piano trio segment is. Such a consummate musician (and swearer )
  14. That's a great listen. The only Kessel i have so will be interested in this thread to see where else to pay attention
  15. in late 70s Britain, at least the part where I lived, all self-respecting soulboys listened to Grover Washington - Winelight Crusaders - Streetlife and my particular favourite at the time David Sanborn - Hideaway {which I still have somewhere) Happy Days!
  16. One of my absolute favourite musicians. Steve, I think your appreciation is spot on. Just received my copy of 'Of Things Beyond Thule, vol.1' a testament to his current stature.
  17. Only patriotic songs I hear bring tears of despair these days. Give me 'Jerusalem' any day over the rest of our choices
  18. Being British I simply display a stiff upper lip and make sure my emotions don't get in the way of song enjoyment so happy for this to be a US-exclusive thread.
  19. Nice thoughts. I also revisited the box off the back of this thread and found great music in it, I'd forgotten just how good and varied a collection it is
  20. It's all on Spotify, in the UK. It is good.
  21. Smoke - s/t [Session] This went on my 'to buy' list a couple of months ago after a discussion on this board made me aware of it, can't remember where now It's now on my 'bought it' list and I'm very pleased that I have. Really interesting session
  22. Why wouldn't they be from such an established and reputable label? They're real LPs and downloads too...
  23. Terumasa Hino Sextet - Fuji Thanks to Hutchfan for the inspiration
