  1. here you are folks, UK rave scene They were big in lots of fields where people congregated to dance
  2. Listening to it now, really enjoying it a lot Always an interesting artist. Don't know this one
  3. 'Flying Cowboys', yes! And definitely 'The Girl At the Volcano' I had no idea that that's her on that Orb tune, about the only one of theirs I know Of her later albums I also really rate the covers album 'It's Like This', great version of 'Low Spark Of The Highheeled Boys'
  4. Thank you, I'll see to it!
  5. Same here, although my 'other' is very loosely themed. My RLJ all in 'other', including 'Pop Pop' and this new one when it arrives. I don't think I have any Lou Rawls which is probably an error
  6. Yusef Lateef - Yusef Lateef's Detroit, Latitude 42 30 Longitude 83 [Arc/Atlantic, UK 2023 RE]
  7. Shirley Scott - Queen Talk: Live At The Left Bank [Reel To Reel, 2023]
  8. Thank you for all your effort. I do enjoy my BGO CD alongside my mono LP. Current Discogs pricing madness has the mono outstripping the stereo LP (which I am now increasingly interested in owning...). Such a great album.
  9. Just checked the Resteamed website and the new version with Kenny Wheeler certainly piques my interest. https://www.resteamed-records.com/product/stan-tracey-in-hamburg/ No mention on the 'Under Milk Wood' page of re mastering or even stereo. They're using the old Steam Records cover design too by looks of things. https://www.resteamed-records.com/product/under-milk-wood-2/
  10. According to Richard Williams, a usually very reliable source, we have a remastered edition of Stan Tracey's 'Under Milk Wood' on the way from Clark at Resteamed. It will be great to get this more widely known beyond those of us mad enough to pay the current prices for the original. https://thebluemoment.com/2023/05/08/starless-and-bible-black/
  11. A few years ago she played that live in London with a large band, lovely concert. It's my favourite too
  12. I didn't know about this release, thank you. Her initial run of four or so albums are way up there for me. Since then I've enjoyed the occasional release. A reminder to read her recent autobiography
  13. Brotzmann Tentet+2 - Cafe Oto Mujician - Vortex Schlippenbach Trio - Vortex Henry Threadgill Sextett - Logan Hall Parker/Lytton/Guy - (the old) Vortex
  14. One for the vinyl only fetishists again...
  15. Wow! Someone new to discover, thanks PIm
  16. And don't like to understand why others still do...
  17. So am I, my favourite late Mingus I prefer Moves to the Changes albums which I've never taken to despite many attempts to. This thread has made me listen to Cumbia and I like that a lot too
  18. I really enjoyed this, sat unreleased for 10 years
  19. Thank you. I look forward to more discussion in the new thread
  20. Would that be a good starter set TTK? I only really know Morricone from Grupo di Improvviazione and all the greatest hit film scores we all can't help but know
  21. Mine hasn't arrived yet and I live about 2 miles from Mr.Confront. I will have to have words Mark at Confront knows his onions, I wouldn't expect him top put out anything subpar. It's obviously beeen done in very close co-operation with AS also
  22. That is a great story. Did he stop at any point?
  23. Fabulous, top five for me. Took a few copies to get a clean one but we'll worth it. I hear good things about the reissue, it's a needle drop but not at all noticeably a friend assures me
