  1. I really rated this at the time https://www.discogs.com/master/17358-Skalpel-Skalpel Also from the UK there was Red Snapper, some Mr Scruff and Homelife intersecting with the spectrum. I'll shut up now and let others join in
  2. Truffaz went very soft very quickly to my ears but from memory, and it's a while ago now, this one was listenable (I did say varying levels of recommendation...) https://www.discogs.com/release/316996-Erik-Truffaz-with-Patrick-Muller-Marcello-Giuliani-Marc-Erbetta-The-Dawn All the genre names describe jazz instruments wedded to beats of some description as far as I can tell
  3. More specifically, Han Sotofett & Jaako Eino Kalevi with Andres Loo Jameszoo - Blind Jiyu - Caught in the rain at the tea shop All sit somewhere on the spectrum I think you're describing but in very different places This one! https://www.discogs.com/master/1773281-Scanner-With-The-Post-Modern-Jazz-Quartet-Blink-Of-An-Eye
  4. Some names that come immediately to mind, varying degrees of recommendation. Earlier releases better in each case I think Skalpel Conjoint Nils Petter Molvaer Erik Truffaz
  5. I really rated their first one. What did you make of this? I'd forgotten it was released
  6. Is your show available online? I've now ordered both Raghavan's, thanks for posting them. That's one of the great things about this place, picking up new music from folk with good taste.
  7. This has sent me to his latest 'In Tense' which is definitely impressive on first listen.
  8. On my 'to buy' list when the Now Again edition hits UK shops
  9. That's an album I played to death on release. Beautiful
  10. Wallen Bink definitely legit and also very well produced and presented
  11. That's a great shame, only very belatedly came to her music and have enjoyed most all that I have heard

6 copies now, I just ordered one. Bit of a punt but Lee/Hampel is a favourite combination so willing to risk it

That just sounds great, and what a festival line up! Black Truffle get good UK distribution so I'd think a US distributor like Forced Exposure might take it, no?
  14. I'm with you in that minority. I always think GBG a bit too long, would have made a better single LP (yes, I know the Japanese edition is single but has all the music).
  15. Yes, I think so. I was a poor student at the time so was pleased. I shall revisit it over the weekend I have just booked a ticket for the Black Sabbath ballet at London's leading dance venue! Contemporary ballet interpretations of and set to Sabbath tunes It has the Tony Iommi's stamp of approval and was a big hit in Birmingham where it opened, danced by their very well respected city ballet. Should be a blast. A rush of nostalgia at the very least
  16. Three more Paul Dunmall CDs from FMR. I have a good number but can't resist adding to them now and again
  17. I remember that coming out the first time...
  18. Motorhead at Montreux Jazz, now I like that idea. And, a cover of 'Rosalie' too, what's not to like there
  19. Maurice Louca - Elephantine [Sub Rosa, Belgium 2019]
  20. Asher Gamedze - Turbulence And Pulse [International Anthem/Mushroom Half Hour, US&SA, 2023]
  21. Streaming it now, sounds interesting. Thanks for posting it
  22. I can understand that. Such a very special tune on a very special album
  23. Thanks, coincidentally one of my near locals has a copy. I might try and go in to give it a preview
