  1. Music Revelation Ensemble - No Wave [Moers Music, Germany 1980]
  2. because I'm too easily led by posts on this board!
  3. I just looked up the lineup, impressive. I have a Moers Decoding I never play anymore, maybe I should Shannon Jackson & The Decoding Society - Nasty [Moers Muisc, Germany 1981] This recording sounds like some of the players are next door to the studio or down a long corridor, especially Khan Jamal
  4. Yeah, I was really surprised by current prices. I paid no more than ÂŖ10 five years ago or so. Not quite as good a deal as CT's
  5. Marion Brown - Recollections, Ballads and Blues for Alto Saxophone [Creative Works, Switzerland 1985] Gorgeous solo recital
  6. Thanks for the prompt, going to put it on now, my first listen. Great lineup 👍👍
  7. This is sad, such a great talent. Sounds like he'd not been in the best of health I'm with you on the Morelenbaum collaborations. More recently his work with Alva Noto was mighty impressive. Let's face it his talent ranged far and wide from YMO onwards
  8. Marion Brown - Vista, [ABC Impulse!, 1975] To think I had this lined up for the next clear out. No way, absolute gem of an album
  9. Julius Hemphill - Blue Boye [Mbari, 1977] possibly my favourite Hemphill
  10. Exactly this. Increasingly anachronistic business model means they'll probably just continue to fade away.
  11. Bought my first two big box CD sets in my late 30s when it became easy to do so online, followed by a bunch of Selects and my other three big LP boxes in late 50s. I'm now likely to sell the first two. I'm fairly agnostic about Mosaic, I don't like the alternates running together and really can't see why they can't feature original art work. Much prefer owning individual albums as they become available. I agree with a lot of what TTK says on the other thread
  12. I have learnt so much from here over the 20 years, most of it useful 😀 I hate to think how much I have spent in direct response to posts
  13. Yes, I agree. It kept pulling me back into it when I'd finished it. There's a lot going on, on many levels. It does betray the fact it's a live event where listening like this misses the visual input and impact. That aside it's a statement, definitely
  14. I listened to it three times yesterday. I'll be interested to read what JSngry makes of it. I also prefer her first album over subsequent releases
  15. Them Devon folk...
  16. Joe Henderson - Tetragon, 1969 reissue. Coming from Australia (hopefully)
  17. yes, it does doesn't it. Thinkig about it more, I remember now being surprised at depth of his mental ill health at the time of watching it A well respected news outlet over here, I think it's fair to say
  18. I don't remember this documentary touching on his death or not but I do remember it being a warm tribute to him. I could only find the trailer but it's streamable on Amazon Prime over here so maybe available in US and elsewhere too
  19. No complete 'Rings' that I could find quickly
  20. Thanks for the link and 👍đŸŧ on your assessment of Togashi. Have you heard 'Rings' or 'The Face Of Percussion ' both solo recordings? Well worth spending time with
  21. That's been on the wantlist for a while
  22. Thanks, yes, sold out now. Friend disappointed ☚ī¸
  23. Did they have any more copies? Asking for a friend...
  24. Absolutely, and nor do I Great album
  25. Thanks. I got in touch with Red Records, they are releasing remastered CD and LP in September
