  1. Ron Jefferson Choir - s/t {Sam Records, France RP] fast becoming one of my favourite purchases of the year so far
  2. Boris Johnson Chris Witty Job
  3. I'm hoping not, but expecting the worst, only because handrling charges have only been charged in the past by Royal Mail when they 'caught'' an eligible package. I'm assuming that if the VAT has been charged at source then this will be apparent and the parcels won't be 'caught/eligible'. I may be missing something but ... Or are you referring to a different handling charge? Do your NI family want to adopt?
  4. I've only listened to the original version so far. Sounds very nice.
  5. It sounds very good, enjoy it when it arrives
  6. A different kind of lazy Sunday groove
  7. This again, gets better with each play. perfect lazy Sunday groove
  8. Hiedi Can Piero Manzoni
  9. Thanks, good thought that I'd missed in the red mist...
  10. Mad Max Eddy Merckx Mario Merz
  11. Sorry to hear that. I was very tempted to buy a ticket for Nu-Civilisation this evening but life got in the way. I may even make the rescheduled date (just listening to Nathaniel facey now, he's a very fine player and I'd love to hear him play Harriott) I didn't know about the play at Hampstead. You were lucky to get the NT tickets, I hear they went in a flash.
  12. Discogs now automatically calculating and adding VAT cost for sales from Europe. "frictionless trade" my arse, thanks Boris and all the other Little Englanders
  13. A step closer to it coming home but Italy are still my favourites to win as they've been consistently the best team
  14. Magnificent match between Italy and Belgium. Italy have been my team of the tournament, they can pass the opposition to death. However, their tactical innovation is based largely on Spinnazola, my player of the tournament so far. Such a shame to see him so badly injured. His absence could make a big difference.
  15. Thanks Niko, I was on a train battling patchy wi-fi, suspected it would be findable
  16. That recording sounds very interesting, is it available? Quick search didn't really help
  17. Andy Flower Robert Plant Joe Root
  18. wallowing in nostalgia, playing this and other Go-Betweens albums whilst reading Tracey Thorn's 'My Rock 'n' Roll Friend' about her relationship with Lindy Morrison. I loved this band from about 1983-88, saw them many times. Albums stand up well, I think.
  19. That's a fine listen
  20. Just flicked back to the start of this thread to see that it's ten years (!!!) since felser's recommendation prompted me to buy the 'Asha' reissue, my introduction to McNeill. How time flies when you're listening to great music.
  21. Yes, second what CT says. I don't know 'Mandela' though, sounds like I should
  22. Glad for you that they finally got around to it! LP still very much in service
  23. Jeff Baxter Donald Fagen Ron Moody
  24. Sounds like a good combination to me
