all I can say is that from this distance I can see no reason not to be at every evening one year I'll make it over but as for now I hope everyone enjoys their visit and lok forward to the posted reviews

All I can say is that by the time I got around to "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," the last cut of the album, I had pretty well had it. But I do appreciate your thoughts on the album, CT. NP: I'm a fan of the Human Arts Ensemble in its various permutations: THE HUMAN ARTS ENSEMBLE LIVE, VOL. 1. Circle Records. Recorded live Holland, May 1978. I'm still not completely certain who played on this album. The album credits only Charles Bobo Shaw Jr on drums; Luther Thomas on alto sax; and, John Lindberg (misspelled Linberg) on bass. The picture of Lindberg on the back cover is amusingly postage stamped size, while the picture of Joseph Bowie on trombone is the same size as those of Gray and Shaw, even though Bowie is not official credited on the album. At the end of Side 1, Bowie is mentioned by the announcer, as is James Emery on guitar, seen in one of the photos, as part of the ensemble. Officially though, they are not part of the recording. Anyway, these guys really bring it here. I've been puzzled by that cover too. I don't have vol.2 but aren't Emery and Bowie on vol.2? I assumed it was a shared back cover for both volumes. Someone must have both volumes......

Beautifully put, agree wholeheartedly. thanks for saving me (and the board) from writing my review, Bev. Maybe the surprise of the evening for me was witnessing Django Bates in such company (perhaps the only one who couldn't be described as a 'usual suspect'?) - his piano contributions seemed to me uncharacteristically minimal (and free) but absolutely on the money the whole evening came across as a very warm tribute to EP - I felt it was evident that every musician was pleased to be there and contributing. A word also for the sumptuous acoustic which made every contribution beautifully clear. Enjoyed our chat too - Henry Cow and Family!

I definitely agree with you there. A matrvellous LP and that rhythm section A pity that rhythm section never recorded on their own at subject time for ECM ....... You can get close with this one... Yes, that was my first thought....I even had to double check who was the bassist on the set. Good album

I paid more than $5 ....but I'm happy nonetheless edit: to add that CT's spot on about side two - an extraordinary piece of music. the rhythmic emphasis apparent on the first side is replaced by a restrained and beautiful lyricism

Bob Moses - Bittersuite in the Ozone [Mozown] today's arrival. More Jeanne Lee (can't go wrong there) but that's not it's only delight. Initial impressions are interesting line up and some pretty interesting sounds - unsurprisingly perhaps, heavy on rhythm. Looking forward to getting to know it better
