    Also agree, a significant artist/composer
  4. Claire Daly - VuVu For Frances
  5. And will hopefully sound good on mine when it makes it over here. Thanks for the tip off about this release. It's good to have a proper justification for buying more music, I wish her well in her treatment.
  6. Glad you were able to track it down
  7. Yeah, I saw El'Zabar duet with David Murray in 1990 and that concert still sticks in the memory as very good
  8. I heard one track on the radio, sounded really interesting, lots of Duke.
  9. Lovely venue, uncomfortable pews. Having to miss it unfortunately.
  10. And the venues are getting bigger, Union Chapel this month. I think a lot of the current exposure here in the UK is down to him being on a UK label. Also to the comparison with Lloyd, whilst he's been on ECM and Blue Note El'Zabar has releases on Denmark and Spiritmuse.
  11. Has that been reissued? I should go and look really

The one Flaherty that really worked for me is the Jumala Crossing CD, with McPhee, on Clean Feed. Not listened to it in years but I suspect it's on the more accessible end of his spectrum
  13. Mine looked ok too, scratch wasn't obvious until I looked for it after hearing it. Soul Brother Records readily offered replacement
  14. A shame, 77 isn't very old these days although he did well to get there having lung cancer. I really enjoyed his early works and reconnected with 4321 which I thought was a really good read.

    Agree with all of this
  16. I had the same issue with the Latest, large but light scratch, very audible across side 4. Cue all the " serves you right for buying LPs" comments...😀

Sorry, not Clifford but jumping in to say I think that definitely needs to be factored in, I'm keen to hear how things develop

OK, loud and clear. Thanks for the pointers.

I have to say I'm intrigued by 'But Beautiful' now. Is it that bad?

That sort of encapsulates my feelings about her playing last night
  21. That made a big splash at the time
