  1. It's very good, I'm sure you'll enjoy it
  2. I stopped listening to them very early, at 'Curtains', and I'm not sure why now at this distance. So my favourite remains the first one. My interest is piqued again so I think I'll stream some of the later ones. Obviously you rate 'Simple Pleasure' highly as you post it often so I'll start there. Which other later one would you suggest I try?
  3. I loved their first couple of albums then cooled on them. They're playing in London this year, I'm tempted That really is special. Can still remember hearing it for the first time, heaven
  4. That was exactly my thoughts too Onto this now
  5. I have the Smith but not the Mitchell which every time I remember that seems pretty silly of me, I really should complete the pair. Playing this now Asher Gamedze - Turbulence And Pulse [International Anthem, 2022]
  6. That's two pretty good listens
  7. That's very good news. Bet they're great live
  8. Fabulous film
  9. I bought a copy of that yesterday, same Insta post as inspiration perhaps
  10. I think that's a fabulous release, admittedly after only one listen. The drumming on 'Africa' is almost worth the entry cost alone Rough Trade and Dixieland, not a pairing I'd ever imagined. Good use of fire drill time though, well done!
  11. Oh yes! What a fabulous album
  12. All downhill since the Enlightenment really. Good job we had the Renaissance...
  13. That's a good album
  14. Me too, I found the Trios a bit underwhelming and the other BNs have been listenable but this definitely has an edge to it This band really seems to have something, Blade sounds good with Lloyd
  15. I'm really enjoying that, are you?
  16. Pan-Afrikan Peoples Arkestra - Live At I.U.C.C. 11/26/78 [Nimbus West]
  17. Yes, I have the latter and really enjoy it. Not too sure why I missed the 'African Suite' album before now, although it's quite easy to get lost in Mann's discography I find.
  18. Whilst over at the Dusty Groove site I bought three of the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra sets on Nimbus. I haven't been following these releases closely after the first one but decided it was time to carpe diem on what was available now.
  19. This has piqued my interest, off to find a stream. I can see what TTK mean about the alternative covers, although the Argentine pressing has a good one
  20. I didn't realise that was due either. It's a great album. Extra track too, will I have to have that to complement the LP? Hmm...
  21. Weird indeed, I'll make a note of Wax Factor 15-20 years ago there must have been getting on for 10 decent shops in Brighton, the majority in North Laines where most of the 2nd hand could be found. Did you see many others?
  22. Haven't been for too long but Mr Bongo comes to mind. https://www.mrbongo.com/
  23. Does that label really translate as thin biscuit? I sincerely hope so
