  1. Jackie McLean - One Step Beyond [ Blue Note, NY stereo 1964]
  2. Johnny Hunter, Mark Hanslip, Olie Brice - Divisions [Discus]
  3. I forgot this from my earlier list Caroline Kraabel & Neil Metcalfe - March I seem to have focussed exclusively on UK improv this year, so far. I like the look of a lot of them, Steve. I ordered the Prevost/Rowe at the weekend. I wish 577 had better distribution here. They seem to be focussing on UK players too recently
  4. I really enjoyed it. Especially the Cirillo tracks toward the end. I'm a fan of those early Mingus with La Porta etc so this sat nicely with them Next up, to accompany some work admin Duane Tatro - Jazz For Moderns
  5. Teo Macero & Wally Cirillo - Explorations: Jazz Composers Workshop [ Fresh Sounds]
  6. Tom Waits, I assume there's not another album with that title. I was knocked out by that the day I bought the LP in the week it was released. I can still remember listening to it with my mate, we were big Waits fans and Heartattack And Vine had hinted a little at a new direction but we didn't see the new sound coming at all
  7. John Pope and John Garner - Water Music Alexander Hawkins Trio - Celestial Carnival Brotzmann, Bekkas, Drake - Catching Ghosts Paul Dunmall - Meditations For Clarinets
  8. That's some heavy stuff for first thing! Prompted me to put my copy on the deck, been too long
  9. Have listened to that a few times in the last days too, lovely music. Autumn definitely in the London air too
  10. Used to listen to this one, can't remember too much about it though https://www.discogs.com/release/3250782-Paul-Bley-Sonny-Greenwich-Outside-In
  11. Been in the pipeline for a while now. Souffle Continu have been working through the Palm label. They do a very good job of their reissues
  12. Alexander Hawkins Trio - Carnival Celestial [Intakt]

    And?
  16. Not yet but now I know about it and see it's on Tidal, I shall do later. I think Blade is a terrific drummer but often feel that's a little hidden in the Fellowship
  17. Cecil Taylor - Tzotzil Mummer Tzotzil [Leo Records, UK 1988] bought on release when new to Jazz and was completely baffled. Love it now.
  18. Togashi Yamashita Duo - Kizashi Live [Next wave, Japan 1981]
  19. and the other arrival "Jojo" Takayanagi Second Concept - Cool Jojo [Three Blind Mice, Japan 1980]
  20. same here, I should remedy that meanwhile, one of today's arrivals Lem Winchester - Winchester Special [Esquire, UK 1962, mono]
  21. In the final episode that concert has a credit for a BBC orchestra so I suspect it has to be that one. I don't recall the stage being so bright though
  22. I'm not sure how available they are these days, especially streamably. If you have the means to rip CDs let me know, happy to lend them out
  23. These two, https://www.discogs.com/master/1736140-Anthony-Braxton-Ten-Compositions-Quartet-2000 https://www.discogs.com/master/1736146-Anthony-Braxton-Nine-Compositions-Hill-2000 The only dense thing is AB's discography
  24. I think I must have checked those Leos out and forgotten about them, very probably for the reasons you identify. Yes I did mean the 'In The Tradition' ones, I remember hearing them for the first time and being bowled over, I think that glow still exists if only in a nostalgic manner. Still enjoy hearing them. I also remember buying the Tristano on Hat, great album. Never got on with the Parker set. Diverging slightly, the Andrew Hills on CIMP count as standards to me and I really rate them
