  1. Wild Texas-OU game so far! Texas is up 45-35 with 4 minutes left. Texas got lucky earlier on a blown call - Oklahoma had an INT in the end zone, but the refs ruled that the OU guy didn't control the ball, so Texas got the ball back and hit a field goal. Looked pretty clearly like an INT to me.
  2. Ok so I was wrong. There's a seller on Amazon Marketplace offering this now for $16.62, and it's being fulfilled through Amazon. Despite the description (scratches, wrinkles, etc), I think these are new copies. People on the Hoffman Board are reporting receiving them in perfect condition. So $16.62 + $2.98 shipping, total of $19.60. That's a good deal on this package (despite any opinions about the movie itself LOL). Also, it qualifies as an Amazon purchase, so if you combine it with any other items and the total is over $25, shipping is free.
  3. Wasn't sure where to put this, and didn't think it was worth a new thread, so here it is, LOL. May Pang did an online chat today from Denver, where she's participating in some sort of Lennon birthday event. I got a question in at the end of the discussion: From Aggie: If Yoko was actually instrumental in putting you and John together originally, why do you think she doesn't talk with you these days? May_Pang: Even though Yoko wanted us to be together it was actually John who pursued me. I decided to go off with him. It was really John himself. She suggested, but it was John who initiated it at the end. Not really a direct answer about Yoko, but still interesting. Pang has a few interesting photos on her website - her with Julian & Cynthia, Paul, etc. Another interesting question: noozgroop: Can you give more information about the photo of John and Paul, circa 1974, in your book? What went on that day? May_Pang: Just relaxing. It was the day after the first visit to the Harry Nilsson session. The next day he brought Linda and the kids so everyone was relaxing at the house in Santa Monica. It was just a day at the house. If anyone was hungry they got food. Paul sat at the piano and played piano. Mary looked at him and said 'Dad, are you some kind of pop star?' I think she was 5 or 6 at the time.
  4. ...except for the Tori Amos bit.
  5. What a strange life this guy's having: Keep girlfriend stashed in bathroom for years. Receive 6 months probation. Win state lottery. Expose self to teenage neighbor. Receive 6 month's jail time, but apparently don't go. Win state lottery again.
  6. I guess the dude didn't spend 6 months in jail after all... Boyfriend of woman stuck to toilet wins $20,000 in Kansas Lottery GREAT BEND, Kan. – A Kansas man whose girlfriend was physically stuck to the toilet in their home has won $20,000 in the state Lottery – for the second time this year. Kory McFarren of Ness City cashed in his winning $2 Bonus Crossword ticket in Great Bend Monday. On July 29, the 37-year-old McFarren received six months of probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor mistreatment of a dependent adult. McFarren called Ness County deputies in February to report that his girlfriend, Pam Babcock, had refused to come out of the bathroom for two years. Authorities found her stuck to the toilet. Medical personnel estimated Babcock had been on the toilet for at least a month and said the seat had adhered to sores on her body. She was released from a Wichita hospital after several months of treatment.

  9. Thanks for the heads-up, Clifford! Didn't realize they'd started up the performances at UT PAC again.
  10. I think there's a time difference between the U.S. and Canada. He must be picking them after the games are already over...
  11. Did you know if you rearrange her name you can get: Moist Oar or Sitar Moo

  13. How about trombone, kazoo, and pennywhistle?
  14. As long as it includes trombone!
  15. The discussion on the Hoffmann board seems to indicate that alot of the vinyl is being received warped, and the CDs are scratched, due to how they're housed in the packaging. Doesn't sound like a good design.
  16. Happy Birthday!!

  22. The Cowboys were VERY lucky to escape with a win against the Bengals today. They looked flat for the whole game for the most part. Only Felix Jones seemed to play with any energy, to me. Romo had another INT (8 in 8 straight games now), as well as a fumble. Both led to Bengals scores. And the with only a 24-22 lead, Romo threw a pass into the end zone that bounced off Miles Austin's hands, and into Patrick Crayton's. Could have been picked off and returned the other way for a TD. I think the Boys are talented, but they haven't really gelled on either offense or defense this season, for some reason. Injuries have played a part of that. A couple of WRs have been out on and off all year, and probably their best cornerback, Terence Newman, has also been either out or significantly slowed all season. And Roy Williams is out, though depending on your opinion of his skills, that may or may not be a big deal. But everyone else is dealing with injuries too, so no excuses. I think something's wrong with the coaching and play calling, not sure what though.
  23. ....and in other news, Texas A&M's football team still sucks.
  24. In effect, wasn't his book "If I Did It" tantamount to a confession? He details how he WOULD have killed Nicole and Ron, if he had been the killer. How any scum would write a book like that, showing his own children how he'd kill their mother is off the charts in terms of arrogance. Simpson was planning to profit off of the murders, whether he was the killer or not. The book was printed but wasn't officially published, despite 400,000 copies being printed. The Goldmans received the rights to the book through the court system, and actually published it. Here are the original and revised covers.
