For some reason Aggie87 thinks of this when reading this comment: -

Aggie87 wonders why don't you just call yourself 1.75 instead? Or 1 3/4? -
Nope. So you KNEW it was fake and meant to be funny, but it still upset you enough to to become indignant and respond as if it WERE serious in Post #177?

Out of curiousity, is there a reason that you like to refer to yourself in the third person all the time? I consider that kinda weird. But maybe that makes me weird for noticing and reacting to it... :rsmile: -
Still waiting on a plausible explanation for this question.

Last year it was crazy-astronaut lady who drove halfway 'cross the country wearing diapers, to off her boyfriend's "other woman". Now today news comes out that astronauts have flown drunk. There's also been some sort of computer sabotage on the upcoming Endeavor flight. Is anyone in charge?? Report: Drunk astronauts allowed on shuttle CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (AP) -- Astronauts were allowed to fly after flight surgeons and other astronauts warned they were so drunk they posed a flight-safety risk on at least two occasions, an aviation weekly reported Thursday. It cited a special panel studying astronaut health, which found "heavy use of alcohol" before launch that was within the standard 12-hour "bottle-to-throttle" rule, according to Aviation Week & Space Technology. It reported the finding on its Web site. A NASA official confirmed the health report contains claims of alcohol use by astronauts before launch, but said the information is based on anonymous interviews and is unsubstantiated. The official didn't want to be named because NASA plans a news conference Friday to discuss the panel's findings. The panel was created following the arrest in February of former space shuttle flier Lisa Nowak, who was implicated in a love triangle. NASA's space operations chief, Bill Gerstenmaier, said Thursday it would be inappropriate for him to discuss the matter before the report is released on Friday. Asked if he had ever personally had to deal with a safety issue involving an inebriated astronaut in space, Gerstenmaier replied: "The obvious answer is no. I've never had any instances of that." "There's not been a disciplinary action or anything I've been involved with regarding this type of activity," he said. In Washington, the chairman of the House Science and Technology committee said he hadn't seen the report, "but if the reports of drunken astronauts being allowed to fly prove to be true, I think the agency will have a lot of explaining to do." "That's not the 'right stuff' as far as I'm concerned," said Bart Gordon, D-Tennessee. The Aviation Week report doesn't make clear when the alleged incidents occurred, nor does it say whether the intoxication involved crew members who have no role in flying the shuttle or whether it was the pilot and commander. NASA plans to release findings of a pair of reviews -- one by the outside committee and the other by an internal panel -- into astronauts' health Friday. The independent panel's NASA consultant and its eight members, which include Air Force experts in aerospace medicine and clinical psychiatry, did not immediately return phone messages or e-mails from the Associated Press Thursday afternoon. Aviation Week said the report citing drunkenness does not deal directly with Nowak or mention any other astronaut by name. Nowak is accused of attacking the girlfriend of a fellow astronaut -- her romantic rival -- with pepper spray in a parking lot at Orlando International Airport. Fired by NASA in March, she has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted kidnapping, battery and burglary with assault.

Here's a well written article from Tom Verducci last week, about Hank Aaron. "You can call him the people's home run king." - Reggie Jackson, on Hank Aaron.

I have serious doubts that he quit cold-turkey the day it became illegal to take steroids. Of course, I'm sure you think the steroids had no effect on his numbers either way (which begs the question of why he ever took them in the first place then). Cold turkey? The "clear" is a cream much like Vaseline or Sportscream. You don't inject nor can you become addicted to a topical gel. Time to check your facts, my friend. I'm aware that it's a cream. You're avoiding the point. Quitting cold-turkey as in suddenly stopping the usage of the clear. I figured you'd understand that - I didn't mean for it to confuse you. Oh fer cryin' out loud, Aggie. You started this ridiculous point and now you bail out on this specious "I know it was a cream" nonsense....then you say I shouldn't be confused with what cold turkey means? Um...huh? If you were using Vasiline Intensive Care could you quit cold [i can't believe I'm saying this] turkey? Per Wikipedia: If Bonds suddenly stopped using "the clear" when it became illegal, that is tantamount to going cold turkey. I highly doubt he quit like that anyway. Now please address my point, instead of some bizarre technicality that only is an issue in your head. Why did Bonds KNOWINGLY take steroids if they have absolutely no effect on his hitting? Regardless whether they were legal or illegal at the time he took them.

BALCO chemist fingers Bonds, Sheff NEW YORK (SI.com) -- The man credited with creating the performance-enhancing drug known as "the clear" said in an HBO Sports interview that Barry Bonds and Gary Sheffield took the drugs provided to them by BALCO, reports the New York Times. The HBO interview aired on Tuesday night on Costas Now. Arnold told host Bob Costas that he had heard BALCO's founder, Victor Conte, bragging about Bonds' performance on "the program." Said Patrick Arnold: "I have a very strong feeling about it since he was on the program. And like everyone else, the program consisted of 'the clear.'" In a statement, Conte denied Arnold's allegations. "The program I created for Barry was a comprehensive nutritional supplementation regimen and had nothing to do with the clear or any other anabolic steroids," Conte said. According to leaked grand jury testimony reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, Bonds and Sheffield have denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs. In 2004, SI's Tom Verducci reported that Sheffield unknowingly took samples of "the cream" supplied to him by BALCO. A federal grand jury is still investigating Bonds' original testimony for the possibility of perjury. In 2006, Arnold pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute steroids and was sentenced to three months in prison and three months of home confinement.

Not that I'm curious or anything, but if one DID want to turn off the fan and open both windows, how exactly would one do that?

I agree - ESPNews is better. I used to have it on my old cable network, but switched to a new cable/internet provider who has better package prices and service support. I think that's the only channel I lost that I actually miss.

Doesn't Disney own ESPN (and ABC)? If so, maybe they're Disney-fying things, making it more personality driven (i.e. "Who is Now", which is truly annoying and meaningless) than content driven? edit - Aggie87 wishes to say Aggie87 doesn't necessarily agree with Aloc. Aggie87 wishes to say that Aggie87 doesn't mind the graphics. When Aggie87 likes live games, Aggie87 tolerates the graphics just fine (Aggie87 wishes to convey that to you).
