  1. It's hard to have any sympathy for you in your arguments with Dan when you make fun of him like this.
  2. Words fail you? :rfr Check it out...the same reaction from two members! :rfr
  3. I'll go one further and strongly recommend it. I second that! I third it! Despite Ron's recommendation, I ordered this based on JAW & Sidewinder's thumbs-ups. #3544 arrived here today.
  4. This one's still available for trade. So's the Wolf Biermann CD. I think I'm about to pull the trigger on this trade.
  5. This one's still available for trade.
  6. I don't think this is a real fair comparison, David. Sports involve competition, and records are there to be broken. Some of which - like the all time Home Run record - are tainted by the cloud of steroids, as compared to the previous generations. In music, that's obviously more artistic than competitive. I don't think using a form of enhancement in music affects the opinion and public standing of the artist like it does the athlete.
  7. Hot and dry. We're in an extreme drought according to the Nat'l Weather Service. We're over 12" below on our rainfall for the year, and no prospects for making it up. Our lake, which is one of our primary water sources, is at 35% capacity. It's the second driest Jan-Jun timeframe on record here. It sucks.
  8. Very much agree with Hans. I don't know why my 8 July order was cancelled yesterday either, and BeBop's from only a couple of days ago has been filled. After talking with them on the phone I still don't understand.

  10. Way to go, Shawn. Glad to here your perseverance has paid off. And good luck to everyone still looking.
  11. I ordered 1 copy of the Stitt set on 8 July, and just got an email saying they weren't able to fulfill my order and were cancelling it today. Curious they can fulfill your order of 4 copies so quickly. edit - Spoke with 2-3 people from Oldies since this post on the phone, and one guy told me that my order was already going out today, despite the cancellation email. I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. Man, I'd kill for 5 decent used music stores. My town has 2 used stores total, one of which is Half Price Bks. Neither are very good, but worth an occasional look. For new music there is nothing here - Best Buy, Target, and Wal Mart. None have good selections of anything. I miss browsing through the racks, the "discovery" of new things and impulse buys, that Ghost referred to previously in this thread. That doesn't happen for me anymore, unless I'm in a store like Waterloo up in Austin. I hope they're around for a long, long time.
  13. My favorite line is either: "We should make a perfect pesticide for the crops. But um, and it's good for people and healthy, and keeps the crops preserved too because we need the food because it's food and stuff." or: "We can be rich in cotton and mining metals and silkworms and we can make things, we can make things - cars - the machine can make it for us."
  14. Eagles will have a bit of an emotional cloud hanging over them this season, with Jim Johnson's death today. He was a great, great defensive coordinator.
  15. Well said, Paps.
  16. Last Days of May used to get stuck in mine occasionally.
  17. How was the gig, by the way?
  18. I didn't even think to look there. I just It looks like it's already set up for the coming season. Thanks Vajjy! We have the players from last year already in there - Conn, Edward Tak, Noj, SS1, Vajerzy, Van Basten, and myself. Anyone else want to join in the fun? And help knock Conn off his high horse?
  19. C'mon guys, let's all hug some trombone babes and drink some beer and eat junk food, we'll be fine!
