  1. I couldn't access AMG when I made that first post, now that I have...they review it quite favorably, but refer to it as a "hard to find lp". But I will gladly take Jazzbo's word for it!
  2. I just found this Inner City release yesterday in a used bin. It was the first time I'd seen or heard of this one. It's from a few different sessions, and rehearsals from 1952, '53, '65, &'66. I'm really diggin' it! And I was happy to see that the tracks weren't in the Proper box. His left/right hand independence was amazing! Roy Haynes kicks it up a notch on a couple of tracks. Has this ever made it to cd?
  3. Dmitry, Is that Al Grey (Dizzy Atmosphere), or Al Green?
  4. I saw Dave Liebman do " My Favorite Things" the other night, and he went so far out (and took me with) that I still haven't recovered!
  5. Yes, I believe that it can, and already has, and will. And no-- I'm not a Sac. fan.
  6. Cheers, Mr. Sangrey. Happy 18th!!!
  7. My interpretation of that qualification of Conn's is that it's gently used (condition). Not that it matters, I'm sure someone will pick it up. I'm just trying to get some f/b about the music.
  8. Does it suck? Or did you run out of shelf space? Or better yet, why are you selling this puppy?
  9. I'll set up a program for all of you addicts for a small fee. 12 cds, or 10 lps per month, terms disclosed upon registration.
  10. So, did you immediately recognize her????
  11. I've been playing disc 5, too...and loving it (not to invoke the image of that lame-ass McDonald's add campaign). I had to ask Mosaic to ship me a new booklet, as mine had coffee spillage all over it. Of course, they complied.
  12. Rashied Ali quintet sold out the Bluemonk in Portland. It's a decent-sized venue. Having Reggie Workman and Ravi Coltrane in your group helps the cause.
  13. Junior Cook-Senior Cookin' 32Jazz cd The rest are lps: Eric Dolphy Quintet U.S.A.-some weird Italian Bootleg Little Johnny C-Original NY Pressing, a little rough, but $3.00! Dexter Gordon-Resurgence Cannonball Adderley Collection Vol. 1 Charlie Haden-the Golden Number
  14. To the last post I'd add Ella Monk Mingus Trane Billie
  15. Pm'd you--re Chet, and F. Newton.

I have an Onkyo 6-cd changer (R1) which I have in my basement for occassional use. It has 2 problems: 1. The carousel will hardly ever close- it gets close, but then opens back up .2. It will also cut out once in a while, where there is like a .5 second power interruption. This is after a few good years of solid use, so I'd say that they make a pretty decent cd changer.
  17. Hell Yeah! This is some good news!!!
  18. Yes, Jeff did a "bang-up" job. The hardest part of dealing w/ him is that he's reluctant to accept any compensation! Thanks again, Jeff...and to all else w/ their suggestions and feedback.
  19. Yes, I sensed some bias, but you didn't include Rick Fox as most improved, so I wasn't sure. It was good to see Malone dominate.
  20. Shaq's #'s are down. Luke is O.K., not great, Fish is washed up, Phil (?) I don't think so. Kobe is an (o)ffender.
  21. Excellent News, Jim!!! Congrats!
  22. I'll be checking out Rashied Ali, Reggie Workman, Ravi Coltrane and co. for the second night of live jazz in the hood.
  23. Well, after weighing the self-loathing incurred by charging it today vs. what I'd face if it sold out before I got one, I charged ahead. I'm damned sure that I won't regret this one! !
  24. Reminds me of ye olde Spanish Fly/stickshift story! Minus the Spanish fly and stickshift, of course.
