  2. Unfortunately not in a version compatible with US DVD players. Hopefully that will change.
  3. Hard to believe that nobody wants the Redd & the Rivers. I have both & they're great.
  4. Didn't know there was an e-petition. How do you get on the list?
  5. Thanks, Kinuta, for the rec here. Just finished episode 5 tonight. Superb. Interesting to see a series where all the strong characters are women. Sarah Lancashire is superb in the main role. Will this eventually make it to DVD??
  6. I have said this (many times) before, & I know it's just me, but I NEVER buy just for sonic upgrades. Neither my hearing nor my listening equipment warrant the effort.
  7. Works for me.
  8. strings and vocals with lyrics. That's part of what I can live without.
  9. I liked him live / in person. The CDs not so much.
  10. I always have liked The Hardbop Grandpop for "late" Horace (Ronnie Cuber, etc.).
  11. Did Ornette play??
  12. Craig Johnson: Spirit Of Steamboat
  13. Blowin' The Blues Away R.I.P.
  14. R.I.P. The evils of tobacco in any & all forms. Very sad.
  15. I'm sure they will have copies on Friday when I see Max Johnson with two different trios. It's nice IMHO.
  16. No yard sales around here, so I broke down & bought this online for $3.99. Not sure why I didn't already have it. Took out Modern Art & Benny Golson & The Philadelphians in the meantime. Of course, no Bags on those.
  17. Yes, I'm working through his albums currently - very enjoyable. You probably know this, but he's married to Monday Michiru.
  18. All good - my favorite is Sipiagin.
  19. Great book. Let me second that. First thing I thought of when I started reading about Bowe Bergdahl. There's also a kinship, I think, between this book and "Red Badge of Courage." I have to admit that, Bergdahl or no, I haven't thought of Tim O'Brien in quite some time, but I did admire his earlier books (it looks like he really has slowed down since 2002). I actually saw him give a reading at U Michigan, most likely from The Things They Carried. Incidentally, I'm making a list of books I ought to reread one day, and I think this one and The Things They Carried both belong. In my "war novel" pantheon, it's right up there with Matterhorn.
  20. Is there a fight going on here??
  21. Pomegranate Izze, ice cold, it's 90 degrees here today.
