  1. Reginald Workman: The Works Of Workman (Denon) I had this on vinyl - sold many years ago. Not sure if this solo bass album has ever been on CD.
  2. Amazon for me. Nobody offered me a free copy.
  3. I have it. Agree it's excellent. There's another new Wadada CD on Rare Noise that's fine too - but much different.
  4. I have a Venus CD where Lewis Nash is spelled Nush throughout.
  5. 75 tracks on 5 CDs. No real info (other than Cassandra Wilson and Norah Jones are on Disc 4) This is the puffery: Each of the five discs covers a specific era, from boogie to hard bop, soul jazz to the roots revival of the 90's, and the 21st century trailblazers like Robert Glasper and Gregory Porter. Not interested in this or the Monk. I'm so done with buying the same material over and over. Me too!
  6. Once you start selling them, it's easy to let a lot go. I know that happened when I sold my vinyl collection. Don't even have a turntable anymore.
  7. I'm going to get the new Halvorson too.
  8. I don't really care, but I think this is "political".
  9. Johnny Griffin I suspect, but I can't give you specifics.
  10. Less expensive (so far) at Dusty Groove.
  11. 2nd episode of Gracepoint. My wife said it's the same as Broadchurch & fell asleep. I think it's O.K. DVR tonight- Boardwalk Empire, Good Wife, Manhattan.

    Al Shorter

I like my "bootleggy" CD of Juba Lee.
  13. Fellow wacko supports your purchase! +1
  14. It is available in CD format at Squidco, so I assume you can (or will soon be able to) get it from other retailers as well. Per the lede of the article linked to in #1, it's "due out on Tuesday." My order from Squidco was mailed today. Squidco is great FWIW.
  15. So am I!!
  16. I believe "interpretations" is open to interpretation.
  17. But isn't most "classical music" the same notes every time???
  18. It was. 90 minutes of great music.
  19. Boom Tic Boom (Allison Miller, Knuffke, Scheinman, Melford & Sickafoose)
  20. Urge is available on CD from Jazz Messengers - or is there a different Urge, or are you boycotting these "issues"??
  21. HMV shipping notice received. Now we'll see how long it takes to get here.
  22. Just got the email too - looking forward to that NYA4 set I got that e-mail too - BUT I can't find the CDs on their website. E-mailed - waiting for reply. This is often the case with their new releases listed on the catalogue/brochure - they may not be on their online database for a few days to a week or so Thanks!
  23. Finally ordered through HMV. Went much more smoothly than I would have thought from some of the above. Now we'll see if the order shows up. Says ready for "despatch"(sic)!
