  1. Thanks for the tip. I've been waiting for a sale on the John Carter set. (I don't think this set will sell very well) Carter / Bradford now listed as "temporarily out of stock".
  2. My copy of Cast The First Stone arrived as well.
  3. I probably shouldn't want these - BUT I DO!
  4. Based on this thread I just bought a reasonably priced copy online. I wish someone would reissue The You & Me That Used To Be. I guess I could buy one of the $20+ used copies.
  5. Nice CD.
  6. I thought this was a reference to the Leonard Cohen song. Nonetheless it was very nice.
  7. Jennifer Egan: A Visit From The Goon Squad
  8. Roberto Bolano: The Insufferable Gaucho
  9. His sons are excellent musicians as well.
  10. Diner was a great movie IMHO.

    Marty Ehrlich

Sojourn is good too. He's recorded with lots of good people - Cyrille, Melford, etc. Depends who else you like.
  12. The race card is "creative"???
  13. Almost incomprehensible post by Moms, but I did (do) like Notes And Tones & Jazz Masters Of The 30's. Otherwise a bunch of elitist posturing, as usual. Moms, we're not as dumb as you seem to think.
  14. Yep - the whole 8 minutes+.
  15. I like The Sound Of Surprise.
  16. Kenny Davern & Steve Lacy Kenny Davern, Roswell Rudd & Steve lacy
  17. Loved it. I'm told that those who like this book will like A Visit From The Goon Squad (which I'm going to try as soon as I finish The Instructions).
  18. Broken English is my favorite.
  19. So do I. Mine is signed by Amiri Baraka. Cecil Taylor Ltd. edition FMP set is probably valuable. All of my vinyl is gone / sold.
  20. I saw Tarbaby in person recently & bought that CD. It's a good one. Today I bought the 3 CD set Baby How Can It Be.
  21. I have his book There Is No Eye. Nice book. He signed it for me when I met him.
  22. He was ill for a while. Lived many years here in Santa Fe. Used to see him out & about a lot until his pulmonary problems increased. R.I.P.
  23. I'm a third of the way through The Instructions (1030 pages total). To me it's a fascinating novel. Obviously some will be put off by the length. Some familiarity with a lot of the Jewish references will help.
  24. 2 hour documentary on TCM today. Happy birthday!!
  25. On Wisconsin!!!
