Hi Kalli, And welcome. I just read Indriðason's 'Jar City' over last weekend. Had me gripped. It's the third of his I've read and I'm just taken by the complete lack of glamour in the novels. It's also so grey. I don't think it ever stopped raining in that last one. The writer I didn't take to was Hakan Nesser. Found 'Borkman's Point' a real slog - and couldn't work out what country it was all happening in! I liked Jar City too. I'd like to see the DVD of it. I'm going to read Hypothermia next.

I got my money back They said if it ever shows up I should just keep it (Amazon UK).

You're right. I was sorry when he killed off Easy. Always enjoyed Mouse too.

I like some so called regional writers (Hillerman already mentioned) including Margaret Coel, C.J. Box, Craig Johnson. YMMV. Dennis Lehane deserves some consideration.

The new True Grit is much better (IMHO),& yes I did see the original.

I don't know about tracking on Newbury orders (I've never had a problem on orders from them), but my order from Amazon UK has no tracking information available. I believe that after 16 days it's lost.

I had a single CD ordered from Amazon UK sent on Dec. 21 (ordered on Dec. 20). Never arrived. They issued a refund today. I've never had this happen with Amazon UK. Nothing has ever taken more than a week to get here to the U.S.. They gave me a bit of a song & dance about the weather, but didn't argue about the refund when I requested it.

My TOCJ (15 tracks) is 9463.

I like Moran, Iyer, etc.. It's mostly about opinion anyway, so FOR ME if I like it it's good.

It's actually the CD I was referring to - both LP's on 1 CD released by MPS Germany in the late 90's I'm lucky enough to own that CD.

Thanks for the tip. I've been waiting for a sale on the John Carter set. (I don't think this set will sell very well) Carter / Bradford now listed as "temporarily out of stock".

My copy of Cast The First Stone arrived as well.
