+1, same with 'Bout Soul, but I've always liked Demons Dance.
  2. Books! USA mailing addresses only. Just ask that you reimburse towards media rate postage: 1 - 10 Ellis Peters 'Brother Cadfael Mystery' books. Not my thing, but my wife loves them. These are extra copies acquired from buying Ebay lots. 2 - Howard Sounes: Down the Highway, the Life of Bob Dylan. Widely recognized as the best Dylan bio. This is an extra copy. PM if interested.
  3. Thanks Dan, I'm a (Philadelphia) Eagles fan, and Jalen and Saquon say we don't do offense anymore, so none taken! I'm 11 years older than you, which music-industry-wise is a lifetime (Woodstock vs. MTV), with music probably holding a very different meaning to my youth than it did to yours. My earliest jazz listening (1972, first semester of college) was John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Blue Note. tracks #1 and #4 - I was there. track #2 - the pianist is a favorite of mine. track #8 - Not Hutch or Land, not written by Cedar, or Hutch. But a well known tune (though not in this version). Thanks as always for your good-natured feedback - I even read it to my wife! And I'm sure many will breathe a sigh of relief (and some will re-engage in the BFT process) when you're up in January.
  4. Paging @webbcity to give a listen to cut #4.
  5. Here is BFT 261. Something for everyone (including @Dan Gould for one cut), and my usual boundary stretching and 60's/70's-centric focus. Looking forward to reading and responding to your impressions and guesses. Only one cut that is likely to stump everyone (even @rostasi ). The person with by far the best chance of getting it is @randyhersom (and that's a clue). https://thomkeith.net/blindfold-tests/2025-blindfold-tests/

BTW, Mtume was Jimmy Heath's son.
  7. Yes, probably to me in that huge exchange we had, thanks. I know it's not something I would have ever chosen to make an indvidual purchase of.
  8. Yes, the timing basically matches the CD running time. This one is not for the faint of heart.
  9. Recorded live At Kousei Nenkin Hall, Tokyo, June 28, 1970. First CD edition. This first pressing was a limited edition in mini-LP style sleeves. Subsequent pressings came in a regular jewelcase. Note that the entire CD and case writing is in Japanese, I had to use google translate to figure out what I had. And the music is even more lost on me, just totally not my thing, so I'd like to find a good home for this. https://www.discogs.com/release/1113938-高柳昌行-阿部薫-解体的交感 $25 shipped in USA or best offer or interesting trade. PM if interested.
  10. Yes, see cayetano's previous post.
  11. +1. I have an ancient burn of this of unknown origin, but the download would both upgrade the fidelity and legitimize the ownership. If a decently priced CD appeared on the used market, I'd jump on it. Bummed that this continues the recent trend of not offering CD releases of desirable reissues.
  12. I received my prize today, and am stunned by Russ's generosity. Four brand new music books, none of which I previously owned, all of which are of interest to me! Thanks so much, Russ! Here is my amazing haul: plus The Interactive Fender Bible, an amazing guitar resource!
  13. + 1, did amazing work with some of those Freedom recordings, especially the Stanley Cowell Brilliant Circles date which was so botched previously.
  14. But the article has a publication date of 2021 ? Rare, Classic British Jazz To Rise Again In ‘British Jazz Explosion’ Series The series will begin with the deluxe 2LP & 2CD album ‘Journeys In Modern Jazz: Britain (1965-1972).’ Published on June 3, 2021 By Paul Sexton
  15. Can't wait, thanks for letting us know!
  16. Excellent 1979 live date with superior repertoire. Highly recommended if you're into this sort of thing.
  17. You have my full support for the coup.
  18. And some prefer smart phone calculators to slide rules....
  19. YMMV. I much prefer the Roques CD-era covers.
  20. We are blessed to have lived through the 1980's-2000's golden era of Blue Note reissues, to have 95% of everything meaningful from the label made available to us, which, along with Fantasy doing the same for Prestige and Riverside, was a dream come true. Glad for any extra goodies David Weiss and the current BN regime can send our way, but it's a cherry on top of the sundae compared to what we already have.
  21. I'd love to hear it some day.
