You don't. Journey To Enligjtenment and Let This Melody Ring On are the two essential albums. Mother of The Future is the key track on Black Love, but Garnett did a far superior version of it on Norman Conmors' Slewfoot album(blasphemous as that sounds).

32Jazz did a Carlos Garnett comp from his five albums, and the runtime was only 40 minutes, 1/3 of which was 'Taurus Woman' 😟

Good point. Even CDJapan is coming in at $20 for this Silver.

A Schlitten according to Wikipedia.

And glad you got the Muse issue rather than the hideous 32jazz issue. What were Dorn & Co. thinking? I would pay for a CD upgrade of this one, my all-time favorite jazz album, especially with the Mosaic box bonus cut: My current version is on this. I cashed in on my Mosaic box, a decision I have mixed feelings about. There's so much that could be done with the Muse catalog.

Same here, but it would be nice to upgrade from old CD-R burns from questionable sources. But no interest in $32.98 vinyl. And why THAT Carlos Garnett title, which is much weaker than his first three albums on the label?

A couple of good 70's Charles Earland LP's, some good Joe Bonner albums, some primo Don Patterson, and an Eric Kloss LP with Hannibal Peterson are high on my list if they ever offer them on CD or reasonably priced digital.

DeepDiscount and ImportCDs will likely be substantially cheaper.

RIP to an artist and survivor!

Did a couple of exciting albums at a very young age in the late 60's, turned down the lead vocalist gig with Led Zeppelin (they found a decent substitute, didn't they...) and basically drifted after that, but a substantial talent at his best. https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2025/08/05/terry-reid-dead-superlungs/85532513007/

Wow. That one has not seen individual CD reissue that I'm aware of, but it is part of the Hutcherson Mosaic Select, which rounds up his best later BN albums. Glad I grabbed that when it came out.

RIP. I really like the Harlem River Drive album.

I have that Didion book on my (literal) short stack of titles to read next, along with The Time of Our Singing by Richard Powers. Here's what I'm currently reading (I normally have a Marcus book and a Peterson book working, along with whatever else I am reading).

I stumbled across autographed CD's of Joey DeFrancesco - 'Project Freedom' and Buck Hill - 'Capital Hill'. Autographs don't really do anything for me, so If either or both of these are of interest to you, let me know what you would be willing to send me that consider a fair trade for them, and we'll see what we can get done. Both autographs are on the front of the CD booklets. The DeFrancesco is his signature in black sharpie, the Hill says "To Woody Buck HIll 1992 in black thin line sharpie. PM if interested, thanks.

LF - Scan of booklet to Gabor Szabo 'High Contrast' CD.

Had a "newbie" who has never posted here who then pointed me to a "friend", who wanted to charge me for a scan of the booklet and get me into a negotiation on price. Beware of similar tactics coming your way. -

I own and recommend the Steve Miller and the Rundgren boxes. -
I went out to Discogs, and threw copies of the Bluiett CD from four or five sellers into my cart, to explore adding other CD's to an order of it to optimize postage. I came back some hours later, and two of the copies of the Bluiett CD had sold in the interim! Surely other members here jumping on it 🙂. BTW, I agree with Thom that I'm not always in onh Bluiett's recordings. He had a tendency to go self-consciously retro/gimmicky at times, and I found those to be tedious. But when he was good, he was very good!

Great BFT, thanks. Glad to report I own a lot of these, a fair # of which I did not ID. Eight of the 13, do need to keep an eye out for the Bluiett and Griffin discs. The others I don't have are the Blues Minus You, the Zoot, and the mysterious Old and New Dreams audience tape, and wouldn't mind having any of those either, though the Zoot is the only one which may happen in my lifetime. I remember liking Claudia Acuna, but placed it on my secondary shelves, and need to go back and revisit it!

Has to be Bluiett. I've never heard the song or album, but I would guess it's cut #6 from this. The trumpet player's writing style is pretty unmistakable from his time with the great bass player in the 70's. BTW. if I'm correct, I need to pick this CD up!
