Yep, that's a lovely representation of Bird. Now, The Blue Dog...probably made millions for the artist. Not to be outdone by the cool cats; and mice! Mice even wear tiny dark glasses. How cute! And jazzy. EL GATO GOMEZ PAINTING RETRO 1950S JAZZ CAT MID CENTURY MODERN BEATNIK BONGO MOD These poodles sure know how to jazz-party. Doggy Style, baby! Complete harmony here, white and black poodles having fun together, even one apricot poodle, whatever he represents.

Would I hang it up on a wall in my house? That's one of my criteria for bad art. Absolutely no snobbery involved, just humor. Painting by Artist Steve Lang featuring FRANK SINATRA, DEAN MARTIN, SAMMY DAVIS JR and MARILYN MONROE, (l to r),

From Wiki: Monk had disappeared from the scene by the mid 1970s and made only a small number of appearances during the final decade of his life. His last studio recordings as a leader were made in November 1971 for the English Black Lion label, near the end of a worldwide tour with the Giants of Jazz, a group which included Gillespie, Kai Winding, Sonny Stitt, Al McKibbon and Blakey. Bassist McKibbon, who had known Monk for over twenty years and played on his final tour in 1971, later said: "On that tour Monk said about two words. I mean literally maybe two words. He didn't say 'Good morning', 'Goodnight', 'What time?' Nothing. Why, I don't know. He sent word back after the tour was over that the reason he couldn't communicate or play was that Art Blakey and I were so ugly."[18]

At least the above reviewer wrote what they thought. Now, try to find a negative review in the press these days! It's all amazing, indispensable and essential, don't want to offend the delicate genius.

Nice photo, Big Beat Steve. Never seen it before. Just dug this from the Internets - Jet, April 22, 1954: The actress has “midgets” Frankie Dee and Pee Wee Marquette fighting over her.

That was Us3, on a track Cantaloop. BTW, this was a Blue Note release. I bought it when it first came out, might still have it around.

Speaking of communists...my father in law dutifully maintains the tradition of celebrating March 8th, the International Women's Day - flowers for M-i-L, and, perhaps, a bottle of something other than the daily vodka. If I'm not doing anything at all dinner-wise, I've got to do the flowers, otherwise I am not looking good for a good few days. From TV, just now - Projected VD spending this year nationwide - 18.5 billion Of that 4.5 billion on jewelry, 2.5 billion on flowers, 1 billion on cards.

Rather clever, funny too. And reflects my sentiments, to a degree. http://www.weeklystandard.com/valentines-day-a-dissent/article/2006813 I haven't made a restaurant reservation yet, and it's too late now. Got to think outside the box [of chocolates], but not too outside {Amazing.net}. What plans you got?

How Tech Ate The Media And Our Minds

One thing that REALY alarms me about FB is that they, with their algorithms, can figure out so much about my private life without me even contemplating that they might. Like when I go on FB, up pops a list of "people that I might know". And some of them I do know, a couple I conversed with just briefly on-line [not on FB]. That doesn't sit well with me. -
This is not about hearing per se, but about a sixth sense...how the heck do we know to turn and look at someone when that someone is looking at us, from way out in the periphery? Happens every day when I'm driving. We all know the Beethoven wrote music after he went deaf. How would he remember what a note sounded like, when our auditory memory is said not to span more than a few seconds?! What I'm saying is that there is other-worldly, unclassified yet, supplementary sense in us. There's got to be.

Just bought this one - Is this Duke Ellington on the cover? If you have Amazon Prime, the streaming of this cd is included. I must admit, it's a rather erotic music... https://music.amazon.com/albums/B0014M0A8A?do=play&ref=pm_ws_dp_ald_bb_phfa_xx_xx -
No, but I just listened to a couple of them. Forget the seagulls. This is some prehistoric stuff, Pterodactylus feeding her babies..baby.

I think I went over the line. It looks like you've taken it personally. Sorry if I caused discomfort. No hard feelings?
