  1. Sun Ra in Paradiso We are particularly proud of the album that we will launch on November 23: the first album in the new Jazz in Paradiso series. In this record series we document important jazz concerts that saxophonist and tireless jazz promoter Hans Dulfer organized in the 'Cosmic Relaxation Center' Paradiso from 1968 onwards. At these progressive happenings, an entire generation of concertgoers were introduced to jazz for the first time, never to be let go of it again. It is now high time to listen to the sounds of the past with fresh ears, also for younger generations. Space is the place! That body piece - in a historically early version without lyrics - opens the album Paradiso Amsterdam 1970, on which you can hear how the Netherlands first became acquainted with Afrofuturism. A pivotal moment in the Dutch jazz experience. It was always thought that the recordings of the long-awaited very first concert that Sun Ra Arkestra ever gave in the Netherlands could not be used for an album release. After all, the entire Arkestra marched through the massive crowd in Paradiso on November 18, 1970. According to tradition, they barely stood on the stage where the microphones were neatly arranged. However, the Dutch Jazz Archive traced the complete series of NOS recording tapes and put together a full-fledged album on which the atmosphere of 53 years ago is immediately palpable and that sounds like clockwork. We are releasing the album on vinyl and CD, with many photos by Paul van Riel, documents and extensive liner notes by Saturnite Rudie Kagie. The publication is a collaboration with Sun Ra LLC, the organization that represents Sun Ra's rights worldwide. The album will be launched in the basement hall of Paradiso on Thursday, November 23. Starts at 6:30 PM. The LP version and CD version of the album can already be ordered from us. NJA-Jazz Friends receive a discount. made the translation in Google Translate guys so sorry for any mistakes.
  2. Oh yes for me as well. Beautiful stuff
  3. I think you will not be disappointed. It really sounds amazing and it’s well balanced. Enjoy!
  4. Got mine at: JPC.de and I think SoundOhm will get it as well. I’d say this will probably end up at Honest John as well won’t it?
  5. It is indeed. Ordered it January but was only released and shipped last week. It’s a great reissue but it is a vinyl rip. A great sounding one though.
  6. Great stuff!
  7. He seemed to be a nice guy. 54 is way too young.
  8. okay Glass Bead Games might be a slightest bit better but I have a huge soft spot for this excellent release. Clifford Jordan with dream bands. I love it. Have to say that all EU and American pressing plants could learn a lot from this Japanese manufacturer. Vinyl is cleaner than clean and flatter than flat. Even the Tone Poets and Acoustic Sounds records come with dust and dirt these days but on this one: not a slightest spot. okay Glass Bead Games might be a slightest bit better but I have a huge soft spot for this excellent release. 9. In my opinion very good but I am no expert in that field. I’ve got all of their albums and this is a favorite. It’s on Spotify and I am curious how you feel about it.
  10. Cracow Klezmer Band - Remembrance (Tzadik, 2007)
  11. Hope has fascinated me from the first time I heard him play on Informal Jazz, which I now think of as his least interesting record . This solo outing is amazing really highlighting every aspect of his playing: he does some bop, a little stride, a hint of classical music here and there. A lovely 40 minute journey Elmo deserves a Mosaic!
  12. I love that record. Great band!
  13. You might be right yes the America is a little more out in some kind of ways. I don’t know if it’s the recording, the pressing or both but most Japanese Victors from this decade sound amazing.
  14. From what I know Mosaic doesn’t do vinyl anymore nor has plan to do it in the future.
  15. Thanks guys you’ve all been of great help again I’ll add these to my wantlist! Needles to say that Bird deserves a nice LP reissue. I’d love to have a Mosaic vinyl set of his Savoy and Dial master takes 🤗 never gonna happen but still
  16. Is there a good vinyl compilation of Birds Dials sessions? Preferably master takes only. I am aware of the Japanese On Dial records but those sometimes have 5 takes of the same song. There is a complete master takes of the Savoy stuff. Is there something similar of his Dial sessions?
  17. this must be Mals most free outing on record. It’s excellent
  18. Yeah I like the two trio a;lbums: Gently Disturbed and From Darkness. Also the live date at the Half Note club and Continuo. He has lost me with his last albums where he also sings.
  19. a Wayne favorite Woody favorite a Mal favorite
