  1. Maybe I've missed something, but the post on page 1 where albums with previously unissued tracks were indiciated has disappeared. Is this information easily found elsewhere, as well as a complete list of the whole series? EDIT: I've answered my own questions by searching for the UCCQ and TYCJ prefixes at hmv.co.jp. I put the list up again at At CD Japan it is easy to navigate to any CD's product page if you know/suspect what the product code is (TOCJ, UCCQ, etc). www cdjapan.co.jp/product/TYCJ-81001 www cdjapan.co.jp/product/UCCQ-5080 etc.
  2. About to watch Hannibal Season 2 blu-ray. Season 3 episode 1 will be called 'Antipasto'.
  3. Hear, hear. Except the current Japanese Warner jazz discs are garbage. Wow, don't feel that way at all (I don't have any of the European ones, only the Japanese). Hear, hear. Except the current Japanese Warner jazz discs are garbage. probably it`s because english is not my mother language - but could not find IMO in you last statement. otherwise, i believe that this sort of statements is disrespectful towards other thread contributors........and yes, I do remember you`ve stated your (same) point of view already several times.... Oh, I forgot to add IMO and ? (Now listening to MoFi's Bitches Brew SACD hybrid. Now that's a proper re-issue!)
  4. Hear, hear. Except the current Japanese Warner jazz discs are garbage.
  5. Evan Parker, except by investing in a copy of Nailed, instead I ended up expanding my Cecil Taylor collection with several discs that do not feature Parker. Some of the Evan Parkers that were recommended are still on my wish list, though.
  6. Coltrane's horn is well recorded and takes center stage as it should. Calling it 'amateur' might give people the wrong impression after the Olatunji release. It's more pleasant than some of the stuff from the European Tours Pablo box imo.
  7. Cecil Taylor - Looking (Berlin version) Solo New old stock from Discogs (€20).
  8. I know many of the FMP albums are now available as downloads at 'destination-out' but are any of them available as CDs? Leaf Palm Hand was reissued by jazzwerkstatt in 2008. It's possibly OOP now, but new copies are still available. Amazon UK DE Edit: This pdf file confirms the reprint of Leaf Palm Hand is now OOP.
  9. The sound of the piano is very unappealing, I think. Especially since the FMPs have much more 'air' around the piano. Of the FMPs I have the two Feel Trio discs (Looking, and Celebrated Blazons), the duo with Oxley (Leaf Palm Hand), one solo disc (Erzulie Maketh Scent), and Nailed with Parker, Guy and Oxley. I would like to own this 10CD box, but the FMPs are musically so rewarding on repeated listening that I doubt I have need of this 10 CD set. Now, if the sound were stellar without the weird, flat, boxy compression, I would have bought this years ago. I think this would be worth it as a £7/$10 download, not as an originally hugely expensive £110 box set. Perhaps the lack of availability of the FMPs partly explains the high praise for this box (besides the great music). Edit: My impression was of disc 5. Now listening to the beginning of disc 8 and the piano seems a bit less receded. Strange how the Guardian review praises this for how the sound contributes positively to the presentation.
  10. This is why I don't bother with jazz magazines anymore. A bunch of so so unhelpful reviews that put you on the wrong track, a couple of meh interviews, and all this for the price of at least one CD (if imported from Britain or the US).
  11. What now 'bout this? CD booklet does not list Garrison, but the Wild entry does. Who's playing? And where are the photos from that are in the booklet? One shows two bassists, the other might just be croppred too much (by the photographer, not the layout person, I think) to not show the other bass player, seems to be taken at the same venue. Are those from the actual concert? No info to be found in the booklet about this. Seems like there are some quality control issues at Resonance/Impulse/Vivendi/wherever. But then, what's most important: first spin last night - and WHOAH! Very, very good stuff! GREAT release, for sure! :tup Going by the minutes long bass solo intro to My Favorite Things, this does not sound like Garrison to me.
  12. That would be some deal!
  13. I made a mistake in my previous reply. The Japanese BNLA999 reissues do contain all the music from the Mosaic, although in different order. The Mosaic uses the order of the three sets played that night.
  14. You should have compared against the Analogue Productions hybrid SACD. Both were mastered by Kevin Gray. That is also far better sounding than the recent Impulse CD. It's all in the mastering.
  15. Quite a gamble with this unanticipated surface noise. What would you pay for an original or King pressing?
  16. Bird droppings. Ashley Young
  17. Have you tried using a different browser? That's probably not the issue, but since you mentioned the "Send to Billing Address" button doesn't do anything when clicked, it's the first thing I'd try to rule out the browser not playing well with the site. The "Send to Billing Adrress' button returns you to the same page, so it does work in a sense. Whatever option I click, I never make it past the 'delivery' stage in the checkout process. I've tried using Safari, Firefox & Chrome.
  18. When you create a Lawson's account you have already entered your western style address. Once on HMV's website I get stuck at the following page. As you can see there is no continue button, and 'Send to Billing Address' has no effect. (Clicking the blue "Shipping Domestic' letters lets you enter a Japanese style address.)
  19. The HD Tracks 24bit FLACs are really good. Much improved over the McMaster, BN Works & RVG.
  20. I was surprised to find two new unused old stock copies of this on discogs for €19 and €21. Of course I bought one of them.
  21. That must have been me. I assume they don't ship to the Netherlands. Never got the site to work for me.
